He's got a point. I watch an interview with AJ and I feel like im listening to a 10 year old kid getting interviewed.

Shannon is one of the worst ones too. I've only seen one of her interviews and avoided any other interviews shes had. I have a very low tolerance for these kinds of things.

Bellew was always a decent interview I thought.

I obviously care about AJ from a bixing perspective as he is a top level heavyweight. I rarely watch his interviews though, as he is pretty boring.

Shannon Courtney seems a decent lass to be fair to her, I imagine she was a good crack on a night out back when she was a sesh monster.

Why are you bothered Stu? Just skip past it and do not click the play button. YouTube has a few billion other videos and I doubt you go online to complain that Aunt Susan has a 12 minute video on the perfect knitting stitch. Instead you just pay it no attention and leave it to those that want to watch it.

I think it's a fair point, there used to not be enough boxing coverage. Now, I think it's gone too far the other way. I love boxing but I can't be doing with all these interviews, following up every insignificant little rumour, or someone calling someone out etc. Who cares. That's another reason why it's a shame Boxing Monthly has gone, it had real news.

Yeah finding the real news is starting to be a chore.

totaly agree mate,this is why i dont look at boxers twitter or any other socail media i do not whish to know there thoughts it will p.iss me off ,i do watch ifltv and few others but only certain things like. i wont watch an oppion on a fight as i want mine } same with my football team .i dont wanna know what there thoughts are as ill think, f u cya later , honestly the reason i joined this forum because i dont like reading about boxing from media , i want my veiw on it and dont want some one brainwashing me, most of the time i write then i read the thread back cause i dont want influence, thats why i like the forum everyone has there own opinion and there is no status , good forum ,

I never read social media, but I would always watch his fights, he is relevant, he is in the top 5 in the world

Yeah, I could do without the coverage AJ gets outside the ring. Same for Wilder. Fury, on the other hand, is very entertaining.

Don’t mind AJ but Eddie has been everywhere during this lockdown. Only person in the world who could somehow get his face out more during a pandemic.

Did actually see some footage the other day on U tube , him and a pic of his team , being asked who's who and stuff me , theres heaps of them ,, Thats my trainer , my dietiscn , thats peter , he's very important , social editor of my social media , thats paul he's peters mate , and helps handle instagram , , thats mary she does my hair , , thats jacob , he dresses me , and makes sure my knobs hanging to the left ..

Yeah I think we will see a lot of fights turning out to be cons too. Milk as much money from the sport in whatever way possible. The likes of Dave Allens last fight which looked as bent as a two bob note.

it's your choice if you watch that sort of crap! I just stick to reading boxing news, listening to a few podcats like Bunce and Showtime to stay informed. Some fighters are BS merchants and it's obvious, wouldnt waste a second of my time on it

Never found it the slightest bit difficult to ignore that type of stuff

The social media stuff doesn't bother me really as it's the way things are now, he's just trying to increase his standing and make more money there's nothing wrong with that.

I can't be doing with hangers on and cheerleaders though, you know those sorts you see just behind the fighter during the weigh in or ring introductions doing that stupid nodding and shouting "that's right!" and other sh*t like that.

Why does a boxer need half a dozen burly blokes in the ring with him offering nothing at all? Should be just the boxer and his seconds.

I agree, l love boxing and was lucky enough to work in pretty much every capacity of the business for many years but as soon the standard of journalism dropped (any untrained tom,dick and Harry with a camera calling themselves journos came along) I could not be part of it any longer. I like to think I was old school and learnt my trade at University(journalism) and in the sweaty gyms in the early eighties until mid 2000. I know the world has evolved with social media and I was involved in new media from day one from the dial up internet connection through to the first boxing youtube channel so I have much experience.

Lets be fair about it, since when does a five fight novice, who has been in the business fives minutes take relevance over an established pro that can really fight and learned their trade over many years? ok, she may be a sort and has a good story but any true journo will tell, you can walk into any gym in the country and there will be a young boxer there with an even better inspirational story. what i'm saying is, lets get the proper journos working and dig out the real stories, the ones that made the sport great in the first place?
