Not like Sosa had many notable stoppage victories though, and Kessler was pretty durable and never stopped. Sosa is more hittable , no tougher, and a lesser boxer overall
Kess UD

Ya, and never beat anyone as good as Kessler and lost plenty of other fights not all that impressively. You say Kessler gets hit, but Sosa got hit more and is a worse boxer. He wasn't as tough as Kessler either. To me it's pretty obvious that Kessler was superior and would probably win clear.
True, maybe he gets caught, but chances are even higher that happens to the worse, easier to hit guy who was stopped several times, not the superior boxer who was never stopped. Even on his last legs at the end of his career Kessler could still get through a 12 round war vs top opposition better than Sosa

Kessler is massively overrated ive always thought that. He has 1 big win i dont think he deserved against froch ( i bet on kessler for that one.. i thought he lost) Calzaghe took 9 rounds on him and andre ward kicked the crap out of him.
Beating beyer, allan green, andrade, and mundine arent any better than beating charles williams and glen johnson,
I guess it boils down to if you think sosa is on par with lib andrade or better. I think hes much better. Maybe im overrating him based on that toney loss. I will have to rewatch that

Sosa beat post prime Williams at 175 and his fight against Toney was at 160.
In super middle he lose Liles ,i don't think thank Frankie was better than Kess. And he lose post prime Nunn .Also he was stopped James Butler in 2 .
I think Kessler's style would be a problem for Sosa.Don't think that Kess would knock out Merqui but could see how he he would take UD somethink 9-3 or 8-4.

I had Kess beating Froch fair and square and I don't think anyone can argue that he clearly lost that fight. If we are on accomplishments and rating their careers, he surpassed sosa (essentially an NABF Friday Night Fights level) there for sure--btw Clinton woods beat Glen twice, Syd Vanderpool did do you rate him as superior as well? Glen had loads of losses and draws thrown in vs not that great of opposition. Even Danny Judah lol! He also lost his next fight after Sosa to some guy named Joe Kiwanuka
Just watching them too Kess is the superior fighter. You say Kess can be hit, well how about actually looking at both guys? Sosa could be hit even more, and didn't show the same toughness as Kessler, getting dropped on his ass and stopped a bunch of times. His fight at 160 vs Toney didn't save him from any of that. You don't seem to mention Sosa's own shortcomings at all
So how exactly does it play out with Sosa vs a more skilled guy who was never stopped despite fighting elite opposition in a 50 fight career? And Sosa had 1 decently notable KO win his whole career, a 10 round finish over a fading Charles Williams, he's not exactly Julian Jackson and gonna wreck a guy just because he hits him.

Rewatched sosa v toney. My memory was wrong. Kessler overrated but he beats sosa.

Just food foe thought rjj and james toney rate sosa as the hardest puncher they faced

Ya but what results back that up? Even in by far his biggest stoppage win it took him 10 rounds. I dont see too much evidence of some really big hitter
And lol Roy been ktfo how many times and still rates Sosa higher, I guess when you're out cold you never really felt the power do you
Ya, Kess may be overrated but just not seeing Sosa as someone who would've done him

True, but how much value do you put in it? I mean look at all the times Roy has been dropped and KTFO, how can we really take him seriously that Sosa hit him the hardest. I just don't see the results there to suggest that Sosa was a major banger...heavy handed, sure

Toney said peter obviously hit him hard but p4p it was sosa.
Roy said sosa hit harder than tarver... he just had a harder time hitting him clean

Hmm, considering Tarver and several others ktfo Roy you'd think someone who hit him even harder would've had more of a visible impact. Just reeks of the response these guys often give , like when they say their toughest opponent was someone they beat easily and not the guy who gave them hell
I've seen Sosa hit guys over and over and he just wasn't a really major puncher, he was heavy handed and could accumulate damage, okay, but that was the extent of it. With murderous power he would've accomplished a lot more and should've had a much more developed KO reputation, instead his only stoppage of note is a drawn out tko over a fading Charles Williams
