I would have liked that.A motivated Duran.I think at 154 the Moore Duran might win.At 160 the Barkley Duran might lose.

Duran by Dec, too slick and too many counters.

If Duran will try to
arrange a slugfest with Mugabi IMO Mugabi would knock him out in 8-9.
If Duran will try to outbox Beast imo he would won by UD or late stoppage.

Duyran is too slippery. He usually ran out of steam at 160. If he's fighting mugabi, that ain't a problem.
Mugabi had a punch. No dispute. but the fact that he's so celebrated shows how far Boxing plumetted post WWII.

John Mugabi was faster and hit harder than the great Roberto Duran at 160lbs. Duran would have had more experience. A guy that comes forward like Mugabi was perfect for The Hands of Stone. Only fast and slick boxers above 147lbs were able to dominate Duran. Not sluggers.
Duran by decision.

The Beast may have his moments early with his hard punches, but the great Hands of Stone would wear him down with body punches and counters before putting him down with a devastating right hand for a KO win in 12 rounds.

Roberto Duran P4P one of the greatest boxer's ever. The Duran who beat Jose Pipino Cuevas and Davey Moore at 154 and Iran Barkley at 160 would be too much for Mugabi. Roberto is a crafty infighter, knows every trick in the book defensively, and offensively he had too much for John Mugabi. Mugabi best wins at 154 - 160 were vs. Frank Fletcher, Earl HArgrove and James Green. Duran's best wins at 154 - 160 were vs. current and former world champions Pipino Cuevas and Davey Moore and Iran Barkley. C'mon, I like Mugabi and remeber when he blasted out boxers on the way up in the early to mid 1980s, but he is not in Roberto's league. Both Moore and Barkley when they fought Duran would have stopped Mugabi. Duran beating up Mugabi inside, particularly downstairs over and over, wins by late round tko or ko.

I have to add I think Mugabi was underrated.I don't think his power was overrated and if he could land solid ,unless you were a top tier fighter(Hagler) you were going to feel it.Moore and Barkley were very reachable and both had good chins.Moore had good speed but liked to slug.Barkleys defense was his solid chin.
I might be wrong but I think Mugabi stops both.
