Toney's HW run is quite overblown. He won a shadow of Evander's shadow, which is about the same important like Holmes' win over Ali or Marciano's over Louis. He won fair and square only Ruiz, who was a one of the worst HW champions ever. He was awarded a draw vs Rahman and lost both bouts vs Peter without questions. Bonavena was a much tougher opponent, than Ruiz or faded Holy. He gave fights to Frazier and Ali, already this stuff tells everything. Joney would be better to hide in his shoulder roll shell and be just outworked. He would be hurt in exchanges with Oscar. Albeit Toney had a good chin, so he would be likely to survive for the final bell. Bonavena by confident decision.

Bonavena would've been a problem for Toney. Toney is slick, and skilled, but he can be outworked, and I also think Bonavena would be able to muscle him around a little.

I'd go with Ringo to take a decision.

I concur for Ringo to take a decision.

James "Lights Out" Toney is one of my favorite fighters, but he would be too overblown in weight as we saw his heavyweight career. HE doesn't belong with the heavyweights. Oscar Bonavena was rugged, tough and well chiseled. HE will be all over Toney, but Toney will survive because of his terrific boxing skills.

Bonavena by decision.
