1. Crawford/Spence winner...............
I am not sure for the rest, Prograis, Wilder and Davis should be on this list. Davin Haney might become a great champion, but we will have to wait at least two years.

Celeb Plant's name sounds like he could be black. He has a hot black wife. He's from a black area. I think that's enough to count.

Excuse me, I live in Europe. So, would you explain me how some names (and surnames) sound "black". I am serious, definitely.

Meant Caleb Plant. It was sort of a joke, but I did say to a buddy of mine who does not follow boxing: There's this dude named Caleb Plant, he's from Tennessee, he's a boxer, his wife is more or less a Robin Given's type, but get this, he's white.
His first name does sound African American. Regarding surnames, there are likely more Jeffersons, Washingtons, Robinsons in the US that are black.

Thanks, I really could not catch the sense. I suppose this is a cultural distance between us, although I have read a lot of American writers, and, of course, I have seen a lot of American movies.
Are there some names (or surnames) exclusively African American ?

Of course there are some caucasians whose first name is Tyrone or Leroy, but culturally if that's your first name you are more likely to be African American. I read about Caleb Plant before seeing a picture of him, and when I did, I was surprised.

I like a lot of black names. They're kind of creative. I haven't heard those names either.

I'd probably drop off Hurd and Andrade, and include The Charlo's.

There are so many Jewish names, which are quite usual in others communities (John, David, James, Simon, Thomas, etc...)....

Not so much jewish as biblical or Israelite / judean etc .... most modern Jews originate from the Khazar / Turkic / east European region and have no genetic link to Israel as I understand
This is off topic, of course. As I know, the modern Jews consider themselves as descendants of ancient/biblical Hebrews (Isrealites). The modern genetics researches proved that they are partly right, only, and that their communities wide the world are pretty heterogeneous (speaking about Y-haplogroups).
BTW, almost all modern nations are heterogeneous, too.
So, you might be right, the solid part of their ancestors (at least male ancestors) had not been the biblical Israelites.

Yeah - although going back to the previous poster - you’ll find most traditional
anglo names are biblical in origin Adam, Andrew, James, Philip, Ben, Daniel, Jacob, John, Joseph, Joshua and on and on.
Ps would this thread be regarded as racist if it asked for P4P euro-american fighter’s? Not that I care but almost certainly

And didn’t the WBC or WBA have a title for people of African origin at one point at one profit? They even had a ‘francophone’ title too so for French speakers.... what a joke boxing titles are
Not only anglo names, every country in Europe has so many names of this kind. Even Arabs Christians have them.
The best euro-american fighter is Canelo.
BTW, I hate racists..................

Those names could be any religion or no religion in the US. Now a name like Moshe, that's another matter.

Boxing titles are used to build prestige and collect sanctioning fees. Mostly, for the fees. It also helps promoters who have fighters with minor titles at the negotiation table. But at the end of the day... sanctioning fees. WBA has perfected the art of sanctioning fees.
