Is Lennox Lewis the British Answer to Muhammad Ali?

I have been on many website forums and when a match up prediction between greats Muhammad Ali and Lennox Lewis come up, lots of opinions believe that Lewis is the one that could kick Ali's ass.

Muhammad Ali in his career beat British heavyweights like Henry Cooper. Probably the most beloved British boxer in history. Ali also whupped Brian London, and Joe Bugner. Is there another Brit that I missed that faced Ali, comment below.

Lewis beat every fighter he faced. He whupped American boxing icons like Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. He also beat top Americans like Tommy Morrison, Tony Tucker, Ray Mercer and Michael Grant. The three top American boxers that didn't face him were Riddick Bowe, George Foreman and Michael Moorer.

Do British boxing fans get great satisfaction that a British boxer whupped the top American boxers and champions?

Lewis, like Rocky Marciano, retired undefeated champ.

Lewis does well in hypotheticals because he was well-rounded and big. No glaring weakness to exploit across the eras. He would do well in a series vs the other atgs, but would still have his hands full.

Lewis had it all - size, fundamentals, fluidness, versatility, punch, IQ. He could beat anybody.

This refers to a boxing term when you retire as champion. You retired "undefeated", whether or not you actually lost a fight or not.
Lennox Lewis was the best British heavyweight ever. He was not close to being as good as Ali.

Personally it makes no odds to me if the fighters are American or whatever. I see them more as individuals.

- Not!

Beaten into premature retirement by Vitali. Lewie had 5 more fights planned to close out his career.

Agreed to the rematch on HBO in their first fight that Vitali took on 2 wk notice as an emergency replacement for Johnson who hurt his titty in sparring, I don't make this sordid shhh up!

After making Vitali jump thru hoops for a year, before Lewis was due to be stripped by the WBC of his last belt, he invited Vitali to be screened by mummy. I don't make this sordid shhh up!

Mummy took one look and told Lewie "I don't want you fighting this man," and so the great Lewie the Lion went out as meek as a squeak mouse.

Mummy in da house of Lewie...eek!!!

Hmm, I just checked and it appears they've got the result wrong on boxrec.

Checked other sources as well; for some reason it keeps saying that Lewis stopped him.

One of the most overdone conversations in boxing , I lost energy for it a while ago

All I can say is, if you like bloody, gaping klits, watch that fight :oo
