Just watching his fight with Lindell Holmes, quite an underestimated fighter was Darrin. Whats your thoughts on this boxer.

I saw his fight w Barkley live. Not a good night for him but definitely doesn't define his career.

He had skills and a good career. Wouldn't call him underrated at all. He was recognized in his time. Held some titles and competed against some of the best in the class.

A tough but limited white boi who was a 40-0 champ at only 20--kinda insane activity rate for the time and a bit Shaun O Grady ish. The goofy as hell looking Gio Rosi gave him a bit of a lesson to take his belt. Rebounded well enough to win another title few years later with a good win over Holmes, but was never going to be able to stand up to Barkley

Overall did very well for what he had. Maybe being a f@cking gorgeous whiteboi he coulda been more of a name though

We used to get some of his fights here in the UK along with Dorsey, Paez, the Charles Williams-Czyz fights, the Hiltons and some obscure fights from the Far East featuring guys like Sot Chitalada….even a bit of Jeff Fenech too.

Good times and all free with ITV sending out Gutteridge and Jim Watt :salut:

I think "Schoolboy" Van Horn started super early and had an on-off relationship with his pops and he was not the first guy to get beaten by Gianfranco Rosi who was a nightmare in Italy, deeply boring but a hugely effective champ.

His story was a bit similar to the Hiltons' with the old man ruling the roost. Bit more discipline than the Hiltons, though. Which wasn't too difficult to achieve

Like canelo, I believe he was a Kentucky boy. Should have pretended to be Mexican.

Had a coupe really good wins against Robert Hines who beat Matthew Hilton. Outslicked the Philly fighter. Rosi was a horrible match for almost anyone. Strange jumpy style. Badly managed by dad. Supposedly was sick going into Barkley fight.
