German heavyweight contender Tom Schwarz could be facing charges for assaulting a woman, writes MZ (Mitteldeutsche Zeitung). It's being alleged that Schwarz attacked the woman on May 31 in Lostau (near Magdeburg).

The police have confirmed that an incident took place but not much else, in terms of the details of what took place, has been released.

Schwarz' promoter SES has suspended him while the investigation goes on and he is not allowed to train in the SES gym.

Schwarz (26-1) biggest claim to fame is getting stopped by top heavyweight Tyson Fury in two rounds, last year in La Vegas, and he's been carefully groomed by SES.

Schwartz currently holds the IBF Int'l title and at 26 he's got time on his side - if he can keep out of trouble outside of the ropes that is.

Bottom line: Most boxers ( the successful ones) are assholes.
They are self controlled assholes and seem nice most of the
time in interviews but deep down you don't become a boxer
unless you have a violent vicious side just under the surface.
And so, you continuously hear about them getting in trouble
and yes, domestic abuse (Mayweather).
It's the unsecret secret, the elephant in the room.

Contrary to public perception studies show that boxers (actually athletes who participate in violent sports) are not more prone to violence Outside the ring than anyone else. In fact studies show those in combat sports are Statistically less likely to commit violence, and gender based violence.
Whilst we have to concede statistics can be misleading due to under reporting (who knows what goes on behind closed doors), I think we can also all agree that most of us who’ve been involved in boxing have been taught respect, routine and not to use the skills taught on others.
Of course there will always be exceptions - gervontay Davies the other week was shocking, but . I don’t think boxing made him do what he did.
Take away the money and the belts and Davies is still a kid from the most crime ridden suburbs of Baltimore.

Well said. Keeping emotions under control is a big part of success in boxing in my opinion.
