.... 3 days before the big fight....

Here come the doom merchants again..

I guess you can understand it after all the dissapointments, but FOR ONCE can't people greet the news that a british fighter is likely to fight one of the top p4p fighters in the world with a little cheeriness and optimism?

Two British fighters are going to fight two of the top 5 fighters p4p in the next 6 months in all liklihood, and if Barrera agress to fight Harrison, that'll be three.

I know we've all been stung before, but this could turn out to be one of the best years for british boxing in a decade, potentially anyway.

Well I for one am trying to be optimistic. If this fight does happen it could be a real exciting HUGE UK fight that may bring back memories of fights like McGuigan V Pedroza.

2004 was the year of pull outs so 2005 will be the year that fights happen!

Ok.. I was being somewhat facetious, but none the less... this fight won't be happening as far as I'm concerned until I see the two of them in the ring. :)

I too liken this fight to McGuigan/Pedroza 20 years ago as the biggest fight involving a top quality domestic stepping up to meet a top of the tree world class

You have to give credit where it is due. I have been hugely critical initially of allegedly and later, Hatton himself. But, they have made this mouth watering prospect of a fight and, if nothing happens between now and then, I will certainly cheer Hatton all the way

I will believe it is happening when the first bell sounds

It's a pretty good analogy too. Tszyu blasted out Mitchell, but Mitchell fought entirely the wrong tactics and was somewhat shopworn.

I believe that Tszyu may already be past his formidable best, we won't know until we see the two of them in the ring, but that performance could well have flattered to decieve.

mitchell of the past wasnt the same as the current mitchell. mitchell when he first fought zoo was much faster on his feet and used to dance more to avoid attack. the current mitchell didnt move as much and zoo could hit mitchell more easier.

Besides, its not like anybody Hatton ever fights is that scary.

Let's not get into that. If you followed the story you would know that Harris wanted purse bids and Hatton became the first fighter in history to remove himself from a mandatory position to avoid facing Harris as he could have definately forced the fight.

Hatton is not dumb enough to fight Tszyu surely.
