Greatest fight card of all times..

Hi Everyone! ok in your opinion which was the greatest fight card of all times? Im talking about 3 or 4 title fights card, or possibly a card with many world champions or hall of famers participating?

Off the top of my head I can mention:

The Carnival of Champions-double header of Gomez-Pintor and Hearns-Benitez also included a couple other champions I think. Then there is the double heavyweight title card of Dokes-Weaver 2 and Holmes-Witherspoon also had Ocasio-Stephens and Page-Snipes, the Camacho-Rosario card with Chavez-Rojas and Tyson-Gross, the quadruple header that included Escobar-Jeffra, Ross-Garcia, Armstrong-Miontanez and Apostoli-Thil, the Hearns-Medal, Cruz-McGuigan and Sims-Duran show, Ali-Shavers which also had Alexis Arguello, Mike Rossman and Vito Antuofermo on their undercard, the LA triple header at the Dodger Stadium of Ramos-Moore, Rodriguez-Griffith 3 and Cruz-Torres, and all the Don King promoted quadruple headers of the 90s....

How about you which ones can you mention?

Hagler/antuofermo, Leonard/benitez and I think it was mustafa/Johnson. Definitely a big light heavy fight.

Johnson-Galindez was the fight that you are thinking of. Thomas Hearns was on the undercard against Mike Colbert but it was not on TV.

Another one on primetime free TV (2 fights in Las Vegas and two in Knoxville Tennessee.):
Ray Leonard-Davey Boy Green
Larry Holmes-Leroy Jones
Eddie Mustapha Muhammad
Mike Weaver-John Tate
Again, Hearns was on the undercard, though not on TV.

The Ali vs Spinks program was one of the great ones:
Jorge Lujan vs Alberto Davila
Danny Lopez vs Juan Domingo Malvarez
Mike Rossman vs Victor Galindez
And of course the rematch at the SuperDome between Leon Spinks and Muhammad Ali. It was a jammed packed house that night of Thursday, September 15, 1978.

This was the card that really put me into boxing. Before that, all I knew who was Roberto Duran, Esteban DeJesus, Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Ken Norton and Joe Frazier.

We have found some good ones. Here is another:

Jack Dempsey-Billy Miske
Harry Greb- Chuck Wiggins
Sam Langford-Bill Tate

Oddly enough, this was not televised.

How about the ill-fated "This Is It!" Madison Square Garden card in February 1981?

Cooney - Norton
Saad Muhammad - Mustafa Muhammad II
Hearns - Benitez
Wilfredo Gomez - Mike Ayala
Arguello - Kenty

Were all those bouts cancelled other than Norton/Cooney?

There have been a few references to the Don King cards of the '90s. You have to mention the Grand Slam on 2/20/93 in Mexico City. 132,247 attendance, with four world title matches.

Chavez-Haugen
Nelson-G. Ruelas
Norris-Blocker
Nunn-Morgan

Terrence Ali, Felix Trinidad and Gerald McClellan were on the undercard, too.

Hearns-Benitez happened later. Cooney-Norton was postponed for a few months after MAPS & Harold Smith, the promoter of the event, fell apart and Smith was arrested for embezzlement. I think Arguello-Kenty was cancelled before the whole card was.

May 7 1994 I would say was a pretty good card. It was all rematches Frank Randall vs Julio Cesar Chavez Simon Brown vs Terry Norris Jesse James Leija vs Azumah Nelson. Yes I would consider this a super card. Chavez avenged his first loss.
