Pac vs GGG @ 155-160 lbs would be a good fight between two legends

At this stage GGG should fight only big names and Pacquiao is a great one. Both fighters are old but they're still good and also champions in their divisions. If Pac could move up and challenge GGG then it would be great. Stylewise it would be an action-packed fight. Haters gonna cry but the truth is this it would be a very watchable fight.

I don't mind seeing Pac getting his headbusted in. But, it is a fantasy match up. Nothing more in my head. GGG is too big and people are over blown by how senator no-needle did against Thurman at his age.

As a big fan of Golovkin I wouldn't mind seeing him involved in a big money, easy win scenario over a Legend.
Especially considering that said legend beat up one of my all time favorite fighters twice.
That being said I can't imagine Pac's people would be crazy enough to take this fight.

Pac is a very small WW, he's not gonna move up 2 more weight classes to get wrecked by a world-class fighter.

Massive payday, immediate rematch clause, rehydration clause, as well as a catchweight clause and the fight might happen.
Pacquiao could beat a severely weight drained Golovkin.

I can't imagine he could convince Golovkin to come too far below Middleweight.

I'd only want to see if it were a full fledged Middleweight bout.
But honestly I'd rather it not happen. Even when GGG knocked him out nobody would give him any credit for it. I'd be happy for him to get another big payday though.

Golovkin has always boasted (for several years now) that he was physically capable of making 154lbs.
And for Pacquiao to collect another belt, I’m guessing he’d try to make GGG drain himself down to 155lbs.
If he was offered a huge payday, he might surprise us all by proving that he’s able to fulfil his boasts.
People are sometimes capable of achieving remarkable feats if they’re chasing a big pot of money.

Drained GGG is the underdog, Pac can do it!

He does seem on the smaller side for Middleweights so he may well be able to comfortably make 154. Nevertheless though I'd prefer he didn't.
I don't think he needs the money bad enough that he should be conceding advantages to anybody at this point.

When was the last time Golovkin “boasted” he could make the weight? EO seems to imply it was recently.

I don't recall him ever boasting about it exactly. I do remember him saying he'd consider it back when a fight with Mayweather at 154 was being talked about as a possibility.
He hasn't mentioned it in several years though.
I'd think if Pac were going to attempt to fight Golovkin or any Middleweight the whole point would be to attempt to win yet another Championship in yet another weight class. If that's not the goal, I don't see why they'd even bother with the bout.

Wouldn't be a fan of this fight at all. Maybe as a charitable exhibition bout is the only way I'd agree with them being the two combatants in the ring facing each other.

I'd rather see 2 90 year olds fight to the death than any Charitable Exhibition bout ever.
I don't like friendly sparring.
If it ain't a legit fight, it ain't worth watching.

Yea I'm not keen either. I'd prefer Pac to face Spence or Bud (unlikely). I'd prefer GGG to face another top middle or super middle. However; obviously money talks and if the fight were made, I'd watch. It's one of those weird out of nowhere fights like M Garcia v Spence or Canelo v Kovalev.

Unlike Mikey, Manny could actually win rounds. Much faster than GGG, stick and move my boi!

I assumed Mikey did win rounds? After the end of every round he rang his fist in victory.
Yea, he's much faster than GGG, no doubt. I just wonder how his stamina holds up. It's mildly interesting.

I could see it being like Oscar v Hop, wins some rounds with speed and boxing but gets taken out eventually. Manny fights tend to have great atmospheres due to his rabid fans so would prob be a good time , I doubt GGG would just steamroll him, Manny has the right tools to at least be pesky for a while and we all saw G looked a bit faded last time

Yea I don't see a steamroll. He's a legend for a reason and has underrated movement/defense in my opinion.

No disrespect, but you know for certain that I have a proven track record of backing up all my claims with proof. So your scepticism is unwarranted.
This video appears to show an older version of GGG (posted last year, during the Steve Rolls press conference) apparently claiming he's still capable of competing from 154lbs to 175lbs:
It frustrates me when people keep claiming I’m talking utter nonsense whenever I reiterate Golovkin’s boasts about being able to compete from 154lbs to 175lbs, despite me continuously providing videos and interview transcripts of him clearly saying this!
Over the last few years, people have always ridiculed me whenever I’ve mentioned the possibility of GGG competing from 154lbs to 175lbs, but if I’m really talking garbage, then surely the same set of individuals should attack Golovkin’s own words with equally venomous hatred, since he’s the one actually making those claims… not me.
And for the record, I can post more videos of GGG making the very same boasts.

Yeh, he came in at around 142 pounds for his WBC 154lb title fight..
Was just a showcase that. 2 welterweights battling it out for a super-welterweight title. Pac was never gonna stay at SMW as well.
