The Ring elected to the International Boxing Hall Of Fame for the Class of 2005 Bobby Chacon, Terry Norris, Dulio Loi, Barry McGuigan, Joe Lynch, Eugene Criqui, Marcel Thil and Charles "Bud" Taylor.

I am happy for Bobby Chacon who was one of my favorite fighters of all time... His last fight with Bazooka Limon IS THE GREATEST NON HYPED FIGHT THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! Anyone remembers his classic fights???

What did Norris get nominated for exactly?

Blasting out a series of old men too past it to defend themselves (Mugabi, Leonard, Curry, Taylor, etc), until gettting demolished by washed up Simon Brown? (Having also been previously banged out by Julian Jackson)

Or was it his legendary trilogy against journeyman Luis Santana, against whom he blew TWO guaranteed wins?

Or finally, was it the climatic and mind blowing finale to his illustrious reign, where he ran out of gas and was hammered by Keith Mullings?

Good for Bobby! He deserves a break. Well, actually he had many breaks but always managed to let things slip through his fingers. But he was a stylish, brave warrior, always put on a good show. He had the enthusiasm of a kid in the ring. Pacquaio reminds me of him in that regard.
Career highlights: KO9 Danny Lopez, W15 Bazooka Limon, W12 Boza-Edwards.
That last fight v. Limon, unforgettable! The fourth between those two stubborn warriors. Sacramento, CA 12/11/82. Each fighter on the verge of stoppage several times. Finally, underdog challenger Chacon seals the win with a late final round knockdown. Regains title at age 31, nine years after losing it and six months after the loss of his wife. Things have been up and down for Bobby since then, but this honor is well deserved and should be applauded by all boxing fans.

Yes, noone deserves to be in the hall of fame more than Bobby, possibly the bravest and most exciting fighters of his era alongside Saad and Danny Lopez! 8)

And what exactly has Chacon or McGuigan done to be considered worthy of comparison to the likes of Robinson, Armstrong and Ali? They are far worse picks than Norris.

What do you know about Chacon?... I suppose classic fights with the likes of Arguello, Olivares, Bazooka Limon, Boza Edwards, Danny Lopez, Ray Mancini including two world titles at different weights and two fights voted fight of the year by Ring count for nothing do they?....
Personally I don't resent Terry being nominated but to say that his achievements outstrip Chacons is to expose a worrying lack of boxing knowledge!.... and is frankly laughable!...

Yeah I am not so sure about Boddy Chacon getting nominated, for what? Not an outstanding fighter, but good in his time, he wasted alot of his talents, and I think was a bit of a party animal. I remember his fight with Bazooka Limon, they were wars, his last one was wild, back and forth, watched it in the hotel room just before I had to go fight myself.

Terry Norris, what the hell did this guy do? He fought and beat who that was outstanding at the time they fought? SRL... he was well past it by then, and was going on his own blown ego of himself.
Norris kept challenging Julio Cesar Chavez to fight, Chavez who was 140lbs and Norris who was 154lbs, yet he wouldn't go up and fight, challenge for the middleweight title which is just 6lbs higher as opposed to 14lbs which he expected Chavez to do.
Yeah this guy should have gotten nominated for...the weenie award.
