COVID-19 KOs Jamel Herring
WBO junior lightweight champion Jamel Herring has tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the cancellation of his July 2 defense against Jonathan Oquendo. Herring is feeling fine and expects to be back in the ring in a few weeks.
“Last week, I tested positive for COVID-19. That’s the bad news,” Herring wrote on Twitter. “The good news however is, I feel OK and have self-isolated until I receive a clean bill of health. My WBO Junior Lightweight world title defense against Jonathan Oquendo will be rescheduled shortly.”
