Froch or Calzaghe...but not who's best !

The question of who would have won a contest between these two will rumble on for years, but if you was marooned on a desert island and you could only choose between Carl Froch or Joe calzaghe's entire career to watch for the rest of your days....whose would you pick ?

Carl's unquestionably. In fact, I'm gonna watch the Pascal fight later

Froch's fights all looked the same pretty much

Joe was hot and cold, many fights were awful to watch but some sensational (Eubank, Sheika, Brewer, Mitchell, Lacy, Kessler)

Tough one. Maybe Froch for the earlier domestic dust-ups with Barney, Dodson, Magee, Reid & Hague being fun with that low-slung left he had and overuse of the out of range right uppercut

Froch would win in a close, action-packed fight. Calzaghe was faster, more polished and agile, but Froch would impose a fight and eventually outfight Calzaghe. Froch was better in going toe-to-toe. He was harsher. Calzaghe was very good from a technical side, but he wasn't truly elusive. Ward's elusiveness and spoiling skills were necessary to deal with Froch, otherwise Carl would impose a fight and get better there.

Joe found his elusions later in the career, against Lacy, Bika, Kessler & RJJ when he relaxed alot more with arms hanging and relied on natural ability for defence instead of maintaining shape

He was actually incredibly good in those fights at evading without ducking low, running or grabbing like Ward would

In fairness both were real entertaining fighters to watch.

JC had more off nights, mainly because of hand trouble, and many of his best wins were quite one sided.

Looking at Froch against Groves, Pascal and esp Taylor they were absolute edge of your seat stuff.

I feel those fights if it had been JC fighting them would have been quite one sided.

FRoch
Because he was more perilous , risking being stopped but also some good KO and more exciting fights .

Calzaghe has a better boxing brain and skill set and maybe isnt quite as exciting .
I am a fan of both and respect what each has achieved in a different fashion , plus they had slightly different eras .

The question had a too obvious answer, so I sent the thread to a more debatable niche.

Froch for me.

The Taylor fight is one of my favourite fights. Brings back some good memories.

Being Welsh I loved Calzaghe. What a journey he took me on. But there’s too many fights I don’t really fancy watching again.

The Cobra! There's no doubt his career was more entertaining in that smoke-his-boots era, but it's like people forget Calzaghe-Mitchell and Joe's earlier highlights.

Froch, to cut down the trees for the raft.

If I was stuck on a desert island with Carl Froch and a tin of beans, I’d eat Carl Froch and talk to the tin of beans.

Yeah I’d definitely rather be stuck with JC

Joe's fights were mostly on Eurosport pre-97, occasionally on tape delay on BBC2 at 11:30pm on a Wednesday night

Froch was a BBC1 live or Sky Sports main eventer in his early career

With Joe's talent he was so wasted, even the Reid grudge match was six years into his career. He had the talent to be a star in his first year like Benn was in 87, Stateside they'd of loved his power and dazzle and looks in 95-96

Froch'd eat all the food in front of you while telling you how good he was at finding it. Nobody wants to see Andre Ward scavenge, apparently.

The Mcyntire fight is one of my personal favourites, the way in which he broke him down, oh and that uppercut he put him away with was sheer class

It's a straight forward question.... would you prefer to watch a repeat of Calzaghe's fights or Froch's fights. Froch for me in all honesty.
