what fighters in different eras had really similar style

DOESNT HAVE TO BE SAME LEVEL OF FIGHTER


A bit of GGG and Chacez Sr (educated pressure, both not too fast, great chins)

Jack Johnson and Wlad Klitschko (paw, jab, hold, repeat over smaller men)

Hughie Fury and Ali (amazing jabs, fleet feet, awesome hand speed, Ali really did show flashes of pimples)


Chis also reminds me a bit of Joe Frazier, the rolling and looping thudding shots

I know Big Mak Attack reminds oogs of Foreman....I can see that

Edwin Valero and lower weights Pac....lots of fast southpaw 1-2s....aggressive

John Ryder was very similar to Colin Dunne.

Always thought that about GGG and Chavez. It’s the solidness of the footwork cutting off the ring and the switch steps, and also the body work.

I always thought Groves and Haye were kind of similar with the low lead and explosiveness.

Lomachenko and Usyk are basically the same but they came up through the same system with same coaches didn’t they. Still interesting to see the differences due to the weight.

I'm going to sound stupid here but I always watch loma and think he's just a feather fisted pernell Whittaker

I'd say his power is more like average, he's dropped/stopped everyone he beat aside from Russell, and he did hurt Salido. He's pitter pattery though

Feather fisted may have been harsh, I'm sure if he actually sat down on his shots he'd be a decent puncher. Maybe I should have compared him to calzaghe after his injuries. In terms of punches that is.

Loma's timing and speed make up for him not being a hard puncher, but he's scored plenty of stoppages in his short pro career.

Crolla was hurt, the knockdown of Martinez was devastating and Russell was being picked apart until Loma took his foot off the pedal & coasted, and the body shot that took out Linares was vicious.

I'm of the opposite persuasion and say Loma is everything Whittaker couldn't be.

I don’t think Loma and Whitaker are to alike to be honest. Both defensive great with neither being concussive punchers but I never think of the other when I watch their fights.

Henry Armstrong looked like a small proto-version of Joe Frazier.

I also see Crawford as a second coming of Sugar Ray Leonard with his versatile and elusive style.

Cliff Couser was reminiscent of Mike Tyson, but nowhere near as good.

Ken Buchanan and Howard Winstone always struck me as having aesthetically-similar styles
