... who is already bored shitless hearing about potential Hatton Tyszu fight?

Will they wont they? purses? 4am start times? has Franky bricked himself? did Zoo call his bluff? who gets to announce it? are showtime going to demand the middle of the night fight? have the contracts been signed or not? will it be pay per view? does hatton or warren really want this fight.. blah de blah de blah.

I really gave up a long time ago taking much of an interest in Hattons career, but his is a fight Id like to see. But given the recent record of fights falling through, especially those put together apparantly by a certain network, ill finally believe it and take an interest when the bell rings for the first round.

Well, try your best to ignore it (difficult I know) and tune back in early June. I'm as cyncial as most but I'm really hoping nothing derails this.

It seems all the big British fights are analysed to death these days, the Williams-Klitschko fight was the same, every little detail written over and over in all the papers. The Hatton-Tszyu fight is the same, i mean how many times has this fight been "on" and yet we are still not sure it will happen

I think thats because 1. there are so few true 'big' fights over here anymore and 2. most of the proposed 'big' fights keep mysteriously being cancelled and then dissapear without trace almost as if the fighters do not exist anymore! (Remember Hatton vs Witter!!!!!)

Yeah, I just look forward to the big domestic fights for the real domestic titles, which are quite regular on Sky. Unfortunately more and more of these fighters seem to skip the logical route to the European title (leading to a World shot) and settle for the WBUllshit - at which point I inevitably cease caring about their fights.

Ricky Hatton is a prime example: looked a burgeoning world-class fighter, super exciting... BUT, terrible bleeder. It felt so inevitable when he was cut in the first round against Thaxton. I haven't seen that fight since it was on, but if it's the Hatton fight I'm thinking of, he was cut within the first minute. I really thought while watching it he was going to get stopped on cuts, and in reflection, I think a European ref would have stopped that fight.

After that Thaxton fight my view of Hatton was that at European level and above he would be good enough to beat some of the fighters, but the cuts would let him down at some point. Problem solved with the WBUllshit - pick your opponents and the ref. A promoter's dream.

I haven't given a toss about all the pre-fight bluster for any of Hatton's fights bar the Tackie one. Even at that I just scanned the occasional news article. God, it'd drive me up the fornicating wall following every single detail of every single development in the comedy routine that is SN match-making. I see it as pure panto: oh yes he will! oh no he won't!

If you like all this, fair enough. Though if you get genuinely wound up by it all, just do what I do and take a step back, literally don't even think about the fight until the weigh-in. 8)
