Warren: Skelton being ducked!
Promoter allegedly's Sport Network announced today that unbeaten heavyweight prospect Roman Greenberg has turned down a £20,000 (US$37,400) offer to face British and Commonwealth king Matt Skelton. The unbeaten Skelton will now face an opponent to be named on a February 25 card at the Wembley Conference Centre in London. According to Sport Network, Greenburg's handlers nixed the fight citing Greenburg's age (22), lack of experience (17 pro fights) and the purse amount. A Sport Network statement scoffed at that, saying "Mike Tyson was world heavyweight champion at 21....Greenberg has had two more fights than Skelton....Greenberg has never been paid the purse that he was offered to fight Skelton by facing the road-sweepers that he has been doing."
