Who wins?

Either Moore by late round stoppage or decision.

At his best I'd take Roy to win a decision.

If Roy was cautious and focused enough, he would methodically outbox Moore with the help of his slickness and superior speed.

moore was a great puncher. Jones in his prime (up until the ruiz fight) didn't get hit clean often. Almost never in fact and when he did (against toney) he took it well. moore is WAY better a hitter than toney so I expect him to hurt jones when he does hit him. the question is how often does he do it? jones would never be in range, moving in and out and potshotting the whole night.

All analysis about chins and Moore's power and trap-smithing ability are almost all thrown out the window for the simple fact that Moore has serious issues with speed. Jones, not only possess hand speed but has top-notch power himself. Forget about his ridiculous reflexes to boot. Moore won't even be able to uncoil Jones into a trap. Besides, Jones isn't slow enough to fall into a trap and even if he did this isnt the jones that went back down too LHW. He can definitely take a shot, Draining back to LHW after the Ruiz fight likely ruined his durability, you cant drop 25 pounds of solid muscle in 5 months without ruining your body. Jones in his prime will prove to be far too mobile and fast for Moore, who will pump out hard snapping shots that could land, but never cleanly nor powerfully enough because of his inability to truly commit due to worrying about Jones own speed, power, and ability to get away from punches. Bad style matchup for Moore in my view.

Moore beats Jones and would expose the myth of Jones' greatness. Moore, along with Charles, Foster, Harold Johnson, Jimmy Bivins, Floyd Patterson, Lloyd Marshall and Michael Spinks would all knock out Jones-whether at 175 or heavyweight; yes, even Marshall would knock out a heavyweight version of Jones.

Jones was a great talent. however, this is Archie Moore. Way, way better than the weak competition that Jones fought at 175. So what would probably happen? Jones would probably do well early on. But sooner or later Archie would get to him. And it will be over. Jones is not going 15 or even 12.

Of course and a fan mentioned Roy Jones Jr. fought a heavyweight in John Ruiz to win the WBA Heavyweight title, but forgets that Archie Moore had fought more heavyweights than Roy Jones Jr. ever did and had more success when he fought both divisions back and forth something Jones never did.

Who are the quickest fighters moore fought at 175? Foot and hand

Hard to say, there were several quick ones.

The great Ezzard Charles in his prime was pretty fast. Also, the great Charley Burley.

Jones at 168 and 175 was probably the best fighter there ever was. His speed was beyond anyone elses and no matter how you approach him, he was going to hit 10 X before you might tap him. I cannot say Moore has no chance, because Moore had power beyond most. But Roy Jones barely lost a round at the weight of 175. And when Moore was in his prime lost fights, and he was out gunned by Charles and others. I'd have to say Roy would stop Moore,and make him look slow,Durelle gave Moore a beating before Moore was able to get to him. And Durelle was no Jones. .And lets remember when Roy hit you he could hurt you bad.Jones by K.O

I think Moore wins this one. too strong, too smart and crafty. I like to say Jone Jr with his speed, footwork and defense, but Archie's IQ, both in and out of the ring was off the charts so.....

This one is complicated...but I'll sort it for you.

If Jones goes back in a time machine he wins the fight and gets Moore's management to sign to fight "the champ from the future".....I think Jones wins.

However.....if they were both born in the same time frame, whether Moore is born later, and is a peer...or if Jones is born earlier and they are in the same community of fighters.....Moore wins.....and he wins a little easier in his own time frame.

In a later world where fighters were fighting less.....Jones has a much better chance though.

Because Jones would not have been able to keep up with the number of fights that were going on back in the day....he would have been worn out after his first few years of fighting 6 to ten times a year.

Roy MAY have been the potentially better offensive fighter...........but that's not the whole story here.

Moore would counter Jones' offense with quick and heavy punches to take a closed decision.
