The late Chris Edwards springs to mind. Very much a journeyman but became a 2 weight British champ and beat a future world champion in a young Jamie McDonnell.

In terms of current fighters aiming to turn it around, I’d guess Ben Fields has a good chance of turning his career around, beat some decent lads and became something of a boogeyman a few fights ago, lost to Lee Appleyard in a competitive fight last time out but I like the look of Fields when he puts it together.

For me one of the biggest upsets ever in the UK was Steve Little 21-13-2 outpointing Michael Nunn for the WBA Supermiddle Title.

Dennis Andries.....Racked up a stack of defeats before eventually winning the British title. Went on to win a world title via SD
in one of the worst fights in history, against one of the worst defending champions in history in JB Williamson.

Gutteridge memorably summed it up saying "the JB stands for Just Bad and he isn't lying"

Andries' popularity didn't improve when he mullered the much loved Tony Sibson in his first defence, but he went on
to contest some big night fights. Like Gary Mason, he'll probably be best remembered for that crushing defeat by Hearns.

For me Garcia is the best example, I heard he was proper poor, homeless, living in a car, often without food and was still fighting.
Apparently after that the gym owner let him sleep in the gym, fed him etc and it turned his career around.

Freddie Pendleton too.

There are a lot of fighters like him who picked up a lot of losses fighting against top class boys at short notice.
However they were still regarded as dangermen and only lost to prospects.
Someone like Garcia was a no hoper

Surely journeymen don't turn it around. That's the point. Is a fighter who has lost a few fights or has an even win/loss ratio considered a journeyman now?

Of course someone can turn it around

Not a Journey man but Tevin Farmer was 7-4-1 before he went on his world champion run

I remember Sammy Fuentes being brought over here to face Andreas Panayi, it went ok for Andreas for the first couple of rounds, then Sammy started to land in the 3rd round before taking out Andreas in the 4th.
