Not much boxing on at the mo. Best round 12s ever?

An old classic. When people mention best round 12s I think of this fight. As it happens Toney was up by miles but Freddie Roach in Toney’s corner and the commentators didn’t agree and this makes his display in round 12 legit in my view. The way he just stares Jirov out after the final bell and walks off is badass too.
What are your favourite round 12s. Audley v Sprott 2 is another that springs to mind

Morales Pacquiao 1 was good. For me that was the fight and the specific round where we saw the last of Morales in his prime. He kept going southpaw and shipping left hands from Pacquiao in order to show extreme disrespect to Pac. He took flush left hands from Pacquiao in that round and that fight was his last really great performance.

Yeah the Taylor fight is always one of the first that springs to mind for questions like this.

Just watched that and really enjoyed it. There’s a few recent all-action affairs like a Salido/Vargas or maybe another Salido fight where they were banging away til the last bell. I’ll have a think

Nicky Piper vs Crawford Ashley was a nail biter 12th round, Ashley was shattered and Piper wasn't far off that, and he tried to get the stoppage.

Not a fan of Piper, in fairness he was a decent domestic amateur, but is the definition of a padded record.
His good opponents were always against people coming in the day before, on the day, Keeton, Core, Thompson.
Made a big mistake with Thompson!
Then when he was genuinely stepped up for title shots he fell well short despite him now talking like he was an ATG.
Nevertheless against Ashley it was a proper fight and went a long way to me giving him his due respect.
Don't think he is particularly intelligent either.

Holmes V Norton for me.
I am a big fan of Holmes and it all came down to the 15th and final round in the thriller with Norton, which Larry won on two of the scorecards to wrest a split decision. However, every time I watch the final round I have to say that Norton won it.

I thought it was quite a big round to Holmes, he hurt Norton a couple of time, Norton comes on in the last minute a bit.
Shows it's different perspectives

I tend to agree with bennie, but that said, right in the dying moments Holmes wobbles him and that could have swayed the judges as well. What a round though. Would love to see a version on youtube with the Reg Gutteridge commentary.

Norton-Holmes round 15 was really close, I felt Norton prob had more of the round and he sent Larry's mouthguard flying, but Larry does the biggest work of the round near the end (so I see it the opposite of Ian, Norton better at the middle...and it's Lar who comes on at the end)
Can't really see how it was a clear round for either one, they both gave great and took lots, both ragged and obviously feeling it. Norton was more hurt than Larry, but Larry was looking tired and worn out for more of the round than Norton was.
Could see a 10-10 easily tbh
