"Hearn: If Fury-Wilder Happens, Winner Can Face Whyte in Early March"

Eddie Hearn, promoter for Dillian Whyte, is still not convinced that Deontay Wilder will go forward with a planned trilogy fight against WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury.

Fury dropped and stopped Wilder back in February to capture the WBC crown.

After the loss, Wilder exercised an immediate rematch clause. Their third bout has a tentative date of December 19.

Whyte is the WBC's mandatory challenger to the world title.

Pursuant to a WBC order, Whyte must receive his world title shot by February 2021.

Should Wilder fall out of the trilogy bout, Hearn is willing to stake his own money to make a Fury-Whyte clash happen.

"I’ll do Whyte-Fury. I’ll stick the dough up. It’s a huge fight. We haven’t heard from Deontay Wilder. He hasn’t been vocal about the third fight. But we understand the position. Tyson Fury has got to fight Deontay Wilder. Good luck, crack on. It’s difficult for everyone," Hearn told IFL TV.

"Will they do Fury against Wilder 3, and will they do it in November or December? The cut-off date for Whyte to fight for the WBC title is the end of February, and we expect that to be kept to.

And if Fury-Wilder does go forward in December, it would be very difficult for the winner to turn around quick enough to do a fight with Whyte in February.

Hearn is willing to extend the date to early March, to make the fight happen.

"If they [Fury-Wilder] fight in early December, and we make an agreement to fight in early March, yes, we will accept that," Hearn said.

Whyte has his own obligation on August 22, when he faces former WBA world champion Alexander Povetkin.

Thoughts? :-?

I’d rather see Fury-Whyte instead of Fury-Wilder III, but 'The Bronze Bomber' isn't going to walk away from a potential $25m+ payday, even if it means he gets beat up again.

I'll would fight Fury for $25m. Easy!

Do think Wilder will return to the thrid one pumped up and thinking about becoming a twotime beltholder.

And I'm not thinking about the AJ-fight. Since well, AJ gonna get whoop'd either way just like Whyte by Fury. Do love the mindgames that have started again! :TU:

Certainly seems like Hearn is happy Whytes mandatory , he does'nt seem to be pushing Fury to meet AJ if they both win there upcoming fights

Fury risks being stripped of his WBC title if he doesn't face Whyte by February next year.

And the WBC risks suffering anther catastrophic Graciano Rocchigiani-style lawsuit defeat if they allow the champ to bypass Dillian again.

Eddie Hearn won't mind either way, because I'm led to believe the terms for Fury-Joshua have already been agreed.

And if Whyte somehow receives his WBC title shot and scores the upset, then Matchroom will be promoting both fighters when the AJ-Whyte title unification happens.

It's a win-win situation for Eddie Hearn no matter what happens.

I actually think that it would be a bad thing for Wilder to avenge his loss to Fury, because it could scupper a lot plans.

Who wants to see Fury-Wilder IV?

Rubbish fights, Wilder should just fight Whyte and let Fury go straight for the mega Joshua fight before Joshua gets beaten again then the Wilder vs Whyte winner can fight the Fury vs Joshua winner. We need to do away with all these immediate rematch clauses.
