Again agree. Never really sure we saw the best of Pirog but Kalambay would have outboxed the version we saw

Defo Sumbu by decision, quite possibly wide and not too hard

I think Pirog retiring early prevented his true level from being 'exposed'. He was about as good as Sergey D and was fortunate to meet a weaker pre prime and possibly cancer-riddled Jacobs (who was winning 3-1 clearly). Gets a bit overglorified, which is easy to do with guys like him, since we never saw them lose.

He was scheduled to meet GGG when he retired, he would' ve been comfortably beat. Pirog had issues with Javier Macial and even I thought was in a fight vs Nobuhiro Ishida both after winning the belt.

Pirog that showed up against Jacobs puts Kalambay away inside 5.

Kalambay by UD under the 15 round limit after out-boxing Pirog

I remember the Macial fight. The Argentine was a junior middleweight without much of a punch but he gave Pirog a good fight. GGG would have beaten him without a doubt, IMO. Of the other belt holders of that era, Martinez would have bean him too if they had fought, IMO. He would have beaten Sturm outside of Germany, probably, and Chavez outside of the SW definitely
