Hello gentlemen ,
It has been ages since I've visited BoxRec and posted a topic . This RJJ vs Tyson is a very interesting fight, specially around this pandemic era but, anyhow , let;s make some predictions here and please write your reason why you think this fighter will win or how he will win.
I believe the first round will begins with Mike Tyson coming very strong and aggressive .
Mike Tyson will be starting a dog-fight from round one and will KO RJJ in round one or two.
I like both of them though, both are legends.

Who will win?
There is no result, it's an exhibition without judges

Best chance is Tyson collapsing from exhaustion.

Neither would try to make it a real fight. It will look like a sparring session, as it's supposed to.

Tyson will fight like a post ring-walk suit Wilder i.e. his legs will be shot.

Maybe somebody will fall off the ring as Bernard liked to do? That would be entertaining.

I know there are no judges, but if the fight goes till the end and let's say, no knock outs , I am sure many people will have different opinions , regarding who did better. This is after the fight of course, but for now , who do you think is going get knocked out or be the better man than the other on September 12th 2020.

Tyson and Jones Jr. won’t be punching at full power. They aren’t going to try to take each others’ heads off.
At best, it’ll be a competitive par. They’re going to moving around the ring and nothing more.
Both fighters are going to abide by the CSAC rules they agreed to, regardless as to whatever they may currently tell the media to help sell the event.
Neither man will make any attempt whatsoever to stop their opponent. And neither fighter will have their arm raised at the end of the bout, since no fighter can technically “win” anything from this exhibition.
The only dramatic thing that may happen, is that the exhibition is stopped prematurely if one of the fighters gets cut (no matter how slight that injury may be), because that is part of the CSAC’s rules for a public sparring session between two fighters in their fifties.
If you're expecting otherwise, something much more, you'll be disappointed.
In terms of a “moral” victory, such as the public perception of whom did better, then it’s a double-edged sword.
If Tyson somehow outperforms Jones Jr., then this would likely be a result of his David versus Goliath size advantage.
And if Jones Jr. is perceived as looking better, then he had youth and long-term fitness on his side, because Tyson hasn’t been involved in boxing or any athletic sport for fifteen years or so.
The bottom line is that this exhibition is utterly meaningless – it doesn’t mean a damn thing and shouldn’t affect either fighters’ legacies.

The funny thing is the fact, that Jones is slightly taller than Tyson and has a reach advantage. Tyson has a HW build, he is more bulked. Tyson weighed around 220 lbs when in shape. Jones weighed about 200 lbs in his last bouts. Tyson looks in shape now, more athletic than in late 1990s and 2000s.

Roy Jones Jr’s physique for his most recent outings at 200lbs during 2018 was soft and fleshy. He was clearly competing outside his natural habitat.
In stark contrast, Mike Tyson weighed roughly 235lbs for the last five years of his career (i.e. fifteen to twenty years ago).
He might not have been quite as ripped as his 218lbs physical prime. However, his physique was rock solid and still retained his speed and power (though his desire for the sport was waning and he’d stopped using many of the boxing fundamentals he’d learned from Cus D’Amato).
There is a definite size difference between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.
This is a weird situation because no one knows whether Tyson’s size will either help or hinder him because (by his own admission) he pretty much stopped going to the gym as soon as he retired. I’m sceptical about his ability to regain his former athleticism as a 54-year-old that hasn't trained properly for fifteen years.
All we’ve seen are thirty-second montages, which are a collection of three or four-second snippets, of Tyson punching the mitts or bag. Whereas there are many lengthier Jones Jr. training videos available.
And let’s be honest, it’s relatively easy to make any fighter appear to be an indestructible behemoth by creating a carefully edited video.

Yeah, those Tyson's workout reels are nothing. I mean, he is at least not fat like he was at the latest stage of his career. He looks athletic now, but, of course, that tells nothing aout his fighting conditions. While Jones is less rusty for sure.

I kind of agree with what you’re saying, except for the “fat” part.
It’s just that I feel the 38-year-old 233lbs version of Mike Tyson, the same man that tasted defeat against Danny Williams, had a superior physique (in terms of muscle mass and definition) than today’s 54-year-old iteration (who hadn’t previously trained for the last fifteen years, whilst also yo-yoing in weight).
And I guess it would be unreasonable for any of us to expect otherwise.
Don't get wrong, Tyson looks great for a 54-year-old, better than most men half his age.

Prediction isn't is so much who will win, but
will it be like watching paint dry or will someone's temper snap and the melee is broken up? Either way not worth a Lincoln penny.

With 5 weeks to go before the boxing event of this surreal year it's hard to believe it's actually going to happen.
Should this even be allowed to happen? We know what boxing medicals can be like, and we sure need entertaining more than ever, but it's still a bit worrying if Tyson connects hard with Jones Jr.
Roy is a consumate perfectionist and does not know fear and never gives the idea of defeat much time either but he's still human. He's still mortal.
For sure there's a few people out there running marathons and climbing Everest into their 70s but as far as I know they didn't spend the prime years of their lives engaged in what must be the hardest of all sports.
In any case there's zero chance of either of these men humiliating themselves in the ring.
That's no longer possible when you reach this level of respect and stature.

Is Tyson still smoking weed ? Is there drug testing for exhibitions ? As for the event itself: if it comes off, it will be a total farce.

I assume he is currently smoking and will use this fight to boost his new brand. On one episode of his podcast, his co-host Ebon talked about marijuana as a bronchodilator. Perhaps Mike is testing this himself? As far as drug testing, I assume that’s a matter of contract since it’s an exhibition and not an official bout on anyone’s record. So no reason for the commission to care.
Edit because I forgot my opinion, which is Tyson by TKO. I was thinking earlier about Tyson’s appearance. I’m hoping he comes out in a new look to symbolize his personal journey. What if he walks out in a robe?

I will watch it as the majority of boxing fans, but just as a formality and, of course, for free and not live. Probably after this exhibition bout casual fans will be more sold on Jones' image as a heavyweight. They will more often put his name in the same context with Tyson, Ali and couple more ATGs they know. They will say, that prime Jones would have KOed every HW today.
