Xavier Miller (Whytes New Trainer)

Does anyone have any info on Xavier Miller, the new trainer of Dillian Whyte? What's his experience and who else does he train?
Seems a strange choice to go with a trainer who lacks big fight experience going into the biggest, most important and possibly most dangerous fight of your career.....

off the top of my head (from Whyte's interview with the Scum) he's assisted Whyte the last couple of years, assisted with training Chisora, brought fighters up from amateurs to English / fringe British level, and gained experience with fighters in America.
Not quite Tibbs though is it?

Yes exactly. It reminds me of when George Groves split with Adam Booth and before teaming up with McGuigan had Paddy Fitzpatrick training him, who was more of an assistant coach for professional fighters. Training amateurs was more his bag.
At the top level, the experience of a top level trainer in both training and on fight night can make all the difference where there is a fine line between winning and losing. I hope Whyte didn't cut Tibbs purely for money but it certainly seems that way.
And although it might have saved him a few pounds going from Tibbs to Miller, it might also cost him the fight!
I'll check out some training clips of Miller and see.....

Other thing for me, reading about Miller, is he seems very focused on the fighter he's training and maximizing their ability. Someone as good and dangerous as Povetkin, though, you need to specifically prepare for.

Anyone know why Whyte sacked Tibbs? Seems pretty shitty what he did to him. Didn't tell him face to face instead got him lawyer to send a letter saying he was sacked. Whyte also told all the the fighters he managed that they had to leave Tibbs. Seems a crazy move considering how much he improves under Tibbs.

I cannot for the life of me understand why he would fire his experienced trainer while burdening himself with managing fighters (and pulling them into this apparent feud with Tibbs) in the run-up to such an important fight. Madness.

Few reasons probably ,some that spring to mind would be ,,, greed ,, big head knows it all ,, ego ,,, pettinus , and just plain simply being a dick ,,, Don't really have a problem with HIM leaving any trainer , its not his first time and won't be his last , he reaps the results of that the results will speak for themselves .... But encouraging others to leave Tibbs , because he has a problem there is just being a DICK .

I don’t know, maybe Whyte took AJs comments on board and changed to a man of his own heritage?

Why would you choose Whyte to be your manager in the first place?

To be taught how to successfully avoid fights whilst somehow coming across hard done by.

I mean dude obviously has some connections, and also some leverage due to his own position as a fighter. Would a guy like the Dillian Whyte managed Fab Wardley who only had some unlicensed fights get on Sky so fast without that?

I think Chisora bought him in too.
