Former Carl Froch opponent Mark Woolnough is among five men charged with manslaughter after a 24-year-old died of head injuries following a nightclub brawl in Canada.
Police said Bradley Johnston was at a nightclub last weekend when an altercation began.
Johnston ended up fighting inside and later outside the club with the five men now charged with his death.
Woolnough, 24, was stopped in 11 rounds by Froch in a gutsy Commonwealth title challenge last June in Nottingham, then lost his Canadian super-middleweight title to Otis Grant in September.
He was released on $10,000 bail after a hearing on Thursday.
Eyes down, he said nothing during the hearing.

Might be wrong here, but I thought I read in Boxing News recently that Woolnough's brother had been convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend?

You're quite right. Thanks. What with the recent history of the Hiltons as well, things in the Canadian boxing scene aren't looking too pretty...

I tipped this guy to SD Otis Grant - who I thought was too old. Had a good fight with Carl Froch too. Don't think we'll see him again.
