DAZN awareness

“There’s growing concern Canelo Alvarez won’t fight in 2020 with DAZN offering about half of the $35M guaranteed and neither side budging, sources tell @TheAthletic,” said Coppinger. “GBP and DAZN are at an impasse over contract language governing his opponents.
“And as outlined in the story, this isn’t about the pandemic and cost-cutting. This is about DAZN’s feeling that Golden Boy hasn’t lived up to its contractual obligation to deliver one premier Canelo Alvarez event per year.“
“If there’s a sudden change in the coming weeks, which looks doubtful right now, one potential date for Alvarez’s return is Nov. 14, per sources, likely against Callum Smith or Billy Joe Saunders, the same options from earlier this year,” said Coppinger.
“The situation is growing messy, and at this juncture, the best-case scenario sees Alvarez return in November or December. At the moment, though, little progress being made toward a 2020 fight with sides far apart,” Coppinger said. from BN24
Canelo vs BJS, Callum Smith, Benavidez or Andrade.

They made an uninspired move. They put lots of money and hope in these fighters and probably less contractual obligations and clauses.
I want to see Canelo vs Smith/BJS and GGG vs Andrade.

They thought Americans would care about boxing if it was cheaper.

Not if you bought canelo fights.

Depends, our cable packages are crazy expensive, on their own I'd guess 12 bucks or so.

Boxing fans need to get good-top fights for their hard earned money, not cherrypicking fights!
It's a business but it should be fair for the boxing fans too. I don't like to see some boxing stars fighting facile opponents for lots of M's. This is not fair and respectfully for the people who spend their money and support the fighters.

How is DAZN not utterly doomed to failure at this point, lol.
Any case for them surviving?

DAZN group have just sold one of the branches of their business and the rumour-mill is claiming that it will attempt to sell its stake in the Japanese territory. They're also trying to raise $1 billion through an IPO.
DAZN are also attempting to renegotiate some of their existing deals to make them cheaper to maintain (i.e. J-League being extended with a reduced annual cost and also attempting to make Canelo take a 50% pay cut).
So it's feasible DAZN may survive, but they've got a massive financial burden on their business, with their revenue stream currently being negligible, due to people unsubscribing as a result of COVID-19 causing no live sporting coverage.
Personally-speaking, I reckon the owners of DAZN will try to cut their losses and sell the business to recover some of their investment.
