Probably should be in the "Boxers of the Past" Forum, but they're getting sanctioned by California for an 8 round exhibition, originally for charity, not sure if it still is.
The weird thing is, this is supposed to be an exhibition, but if they get too aggressive, the ref will step in and tell them to back off. So it's not a real fight.
Some people just can't walk away.
Here's a video of a 2020 Tyson looking good in 8 second bursts. I imagine though, that's about all the stamina he's got.

That's definitely all that he's got.
An article flashed up on my phone today about Tyson, where he admits that after the first viral (obviously sped up)clip of his pad work where he looked 'awesome', he had to go to bed for a week.
He's obviously exaggerating, but I bet it's not far from the truth.
It is extremely doubtful that Tyson is in any kind of fit state to go 8 admittedly sedate rounds.

Mike Tyson, at best, probably only has enough physical athleticism to provide one rounds’ worth of high-intensity action.
Anyone that saw Mike’s last two pro fights against journeymen like Williams and McBride, as well as his 2006 exhibition bout against Sanders (when his physique was far superior, coupled with being fifteen years younger), will surely appreciate the fact that Tyson is utterly shot.
Tyson has also spent a great deal of time over the last fifteen years yo-yoing in weight and also being a couch potato because he simply didn’t want to train or watch his diet (his words).
And it wouldn’t take a genius to appreciate the obvious reason why we’ve only seen thirty-second or so carefully-edited montage videos, which are a collection of two or three-second snippets, of the 54-year-old version of Tyson punching the mitts or bag.

Hey now, EO. Don’t be so hard on Iron Mike. I think we should all be glad he’s overcome the mental obstacles that led to the completely valid criticisms of him in the mid-2000s and 2010s.
But this is a different man with a whole new spiritual and mental perspective. I’m glad he’s found joy in life. Hope he proves the haters wrong with a fun performance.

I don’t feel that my previous post in this thread was disrespectful because after all, Tyson is 54-years-of-age and he only recently resumed training (after enduring 15 years of struggling with his weight and [by his own admission], being a couch potato).
So I was merely stating fact.
Here’s what Mike Tyson himself conceded yesterday:
• Legend Mike Tyson is set to return to the ring to face Roy Jones Jr in November
• He revealed his comeback during lockdown and posted incredible workout clip
• Tyson has now explained that he was in bed for a week after training video
• Iron Mike claimed 'this is big boy s***' as he gears up for his comeback at age 54
Boxing legend Mike Tyson has revealed the incredible exhaustion he suffered in the wake of filming his stunning comeback video earlier this year.
Iron Mike rocked the world of boxing during lockdown by announcing that he would return to the ring at the age of 54 for a bout against Roy Jones Jr on November 28.
At the time, he posted a clip on social media of himself in incredible shape, working out on the pads before turning to the camera and claiming 'I'm back'.
While the clip was incredibly impressive, Tyson has now revealed that the exertion left him bed-bound for a week in the aftermath.
Speaking to Joe Rogan on his podcast, Tyson explained: 'Getting in shape and getting conditioned are two different animals. They don't even belong in the same division of working out. Getting in shape is getting able to fit in your clothes.
'Being in condition is being able to come outside of your soul. You can't do that automatically. The emotional state to prepare for that is mind-boggling.

'Let me tell you something about the first training video, I did that video and I was in bed for a week. That was 30 seconds, and I was in bed for a week. That was not funny because it made me realise that this is big boy s***.'
Tyson has not fought professionally since 2005, when he lost out to Kevin McBride in his final bout.
Tyson's opponent for November's fight, 51-year-old Jones Jr, meanwhile, has only been inactive since 2018, where he won via unanimous decision against Scott Sigmon.

If the Tyson video had shown pictures of him doing road work or skip roping, or doing anything that involves the slightest bit of endurance, then that would've been interesting. However it showed 30 seconds of boxing from about 3 angles. And that is about all the stamina Tyson possesses.
Whatever, dude has to make a living somehow, pay for that pigeon and tiger food.

It's ironic that Iron Mike's probably only notable Hall of Fame win was Michael Spinks, who was a former light-heavyweight who turned out to be a heavyweight, now he has another chance to beat another light-heavyweight who is a Hall of Fame

Larry Holmes was 53 when he gave butterbean a small whooping.
Mike Tyson could probably stack up 20 more wins on his record if he wanted to against C or D class calibre opposition but ofcourse the old Mike Tyson is long gone.
