Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - June 6, 2021

A rumor that ring legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. (50-0, 27 KOs) is fighting YouTube personality Logan Paul (0-1) blew up social media on Wednesday. Reportedly Mayweather and Paul have signed a contract and the fight will be an exhibition taking place later this year. If true, the 43-year-old Floyd, a welterweight, would be giving up some size as Paul, 25, is a cruiserweight.
Mayweather’s last official fight was three years ago against MMA star Connor McGregor (0-1). In a December 2018 exhibition, Floyd knocked out a kickboxer in 136 seconds. In Paul’s only official fight, he lost a six round split decision to fellow YouTuber KSI last November.

I honestly didn't have a clue who Logan Paul was prior to some Mickey Mouse fight he had with a guy off the internet that garnered the attention of the press.
He's supposed to be some online star or something, I dunno

As soon as I hear the word Exhibition. It could be The Ghost of Muhammad Ali going up against the Ghost of Jack Dempsey and I still wouldn't give a f*ck.

It often feels as though the media wrongly conveys rumours about Floyd Mayweather Jr.on almost a fortnightly basis!
It’s got to the point I refuse to believe any of them!
I really can’t help thinking that some of these rumours are spread by members of Mayweather’s entourage in order to keep Floyd’s name in the media spotlight!

Floyd seems to like these clown fights for easy money when he already has more than he can spend. What a shame to his legacy. The jokers he fights don't mind getting a decent payday either. Nobody in their right mind would pay a nickel to watch this but I guess this Paul guy has a bunch of teenage girls who follow him so I guess they'll pay.

Logan Paul is a Cruiseerweight, he should be trying to get a fight with the winner of Mairis Briedis VS Yunier Dorticos not a retired 147 pounder who is in his mid 40's who he has 50 Plus pounds on, The Commisions should never sanction that fight.

Doesn't hurt his legacy one bit.
Archie Moore fought well past his best, and his last fight was against a Pro Wrestler. Ted DiBiase's Dad in fact.
Did that ruin his legacy?
This just is a guy capitalizing on the fame he's created for himself to keep making money while he can. Can't stay I blame him.
If people wanna pay him oodles of money for not much, why wouldn't he take it?

It's not a fight.

I don't get it, I genuinely had never heard of him until that fight he had, I must be out of the loop or something I just don't understand the appeal.
People actually pay to watch this guy box

He has a bunch of internet fans, and apparently he has a YouTube channel or something. So I mean he'd probably get an audience if he pushed an old lady down a flight of stairs.
I don't know how or why he's famous on YouTube. I highly doubt I'd be interested in anything he's done, but hey, that's the kids these days.

He caused a lot of controversy a few years ago, when he went to that suicide forest in Japan.
It was after that he fought KSI, that was his way of getting back in the light, because I think he had to lay low for a bit.

I hadn't either, but he's a you tube celebrity. Nobody cares about boxing in this country.

Unrelated note, but it'd be nice to see a few celebrities in almost any field who piss off the public and cause a Twitter storm or whatever, and still don't apologize, and just tell people to get over it.
Not nearly enough people have the balls to do that.

This is a pretty good summary of what he is about:

Mayweather keeping himself in the mainstream or something.
No real money fights left. Don't care really.

Re: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul | Exhibition - February 2021
The fight, which has been widely described as something of a monstrosity in sporting terms, will be streamed on the pay-per-view platform FanMio, and tickets are currently available for $24.99 (just under £19).
That's decent value, depending on your definition of the word, but if you wait any longer than the price gets much, much higher. That's because the pricing is structured as such that once a million tickets are sold, the basic price jumps to £39.99 (just over £30), before skyrocketing to £59.99 (£45) from December 29.
Leave it until after February 11 and you, dear reader, will have to pay a frankly exuberant fee of £69.99 (approximately £53) to watch Floyd Mayweather treat Paul like a punching bag.
So there you have it, if you want to watch this 'fight' for anything resembling a reasonable fee, you're better off getting in there early.

I'd say it has no more to do with his legacy than it would if he reffed a WWF match and hit Vince McMahon with a chair. It looks like sport, but it is entertainment, pure and simple, and nothing really to do with boxing at all. He's already been on Dancing with the Stars so he might as well do this instead; he has to keep busy.
