So the PPV event generated roughly $9m in revenue, with the total combined cost of the guaranteed purses for all the fighters competing both main events being $3.15m.
Whilst it’s easy to get bogged down with the PPV buy-rate, we need to remember the reason these events are being staged in the first place, which is to generate money.
For instance, even though the Crawford-Khan PPV achieved 150K buys, it was $15 cheaper than last weekend's Charlo brothers card and the total combined guaranteed purse pot for Crawford-Khan was $10.5m.

Lol, dishonest "rough" figures taking the max x the max cost. I paid $65. The cable companies get half so even with your dishonest math it wasn't a success.
That being said, it's the only way to make semi interesting fights without crowds.

More than I thought they'd get, honestly. Probably enough revenue to at least break even, maybe a little gravy on top.

Was £15 in the UK as well on FITE tv.. Not sure how many people in the UK would have bought it.

how much was the total payouts, not just purses but how much all the fighters get in the end
and how much of the ppv money actually goes to paying the fighters, not the tv companies and other ppl who worked on the fight etc
i guess its a lot easier to get over the line if you arent doing like 40 m in excessive payouts to the fighters

Supposedly the 2 main event fights combined had guaranteed purses of $3.15m. They may also get additional PPV money but I would assume the contracts would only give them additional money if the card did better than break-even.
I dunno what the undercard fighters got but if this was anything like most boxing cards I would suspect it's a small fraction of what the main eventers got.

So 9mm
Minus the cable cut of 50 percent
4.5mm rev total
Figures i saw for guaranteed purses for main event only was 3.65mm for the 4 fighters
Leaving 850k
My guess is after paying all the fighters and admin costs it is about breakeven

I bet it was around $4-$5m total for purses for the whole card.. Including the main events. Undercarders probably all got less than $250k each..

After half the ppv revenue goes to Showtime, the rest is split based on what % of revenue was agreed prior to the fight.
Just for fvcks sake, Let's say the event done $8.4m in ppv revenue. They're left with $4.2m. Not all boxers get a cut in PPV's do they? I'm guessing only Jerm and Jarm got revenue cuts. The rest were probably on a base purse as if they're on a regular Showtime card.

My math is above.
Important to note SHOWTIME does NOT get that 50 percent off the top. Carriers do ie directtv, cable companies, etc they take 40 and showtime gets 10

Yea I think your math is probably close to accurate. Looks like break-even or very close to it.

Do you realy drop 50% of rev strait on tv. I obviously knew it would a decent amount but geeze didn’t expect 50%. Is that true even on big ppvs, like did the cable company make 200million on mayweather vs pac?

Its the average cut they take to distribute ppv. They however foot tv advertising expenses...when you see tv ads those are put on by cable
I dont know if a major event like floyd v pac if they got that usual cut or not.

I’m just there’s some sort of cap.. something on the contracts etc.

It's not Showtime that gets half, it's the cable providers. Showtime gets a fee from the promoter.
The revenue is an upside at a certain buy rate that this surely didn't meet.

“Dishonest” maths?
What on earth is that supposed to mean?
You can’t lie about numbers! It’s simple calculation, with one number multiplied by another.
Are you seriously claiming the PPV generated less revenue than the total combined guaranteed purse pot for both main events?
OK, if I’m being “dishonest”, then show your maths.
And if you refuse to do such a trivial thing, then shut up!

If you use 100k as the total and do the math, there wouldn't be enough left to pay all the undercard salaries. If you use 120k sales, its probably around breakeven
You used 120k. And from what i saw your main even salaries were low (but to be fair i didn't see an official number)
Hence him saying you are presenting it in the best light possible because of your pbc bias.

Also, I know people love HD, but at least one buy, mine, was only $65 because I went sd.
