According to the Sky Sports schedule, the British and Commonwealth titles's will be on the line for Matt Skelton's latest defence, looking at the top ten there doesn't seem to be much option.

Lets see have a look of the viable contendors.

Danny Williams ..... Um no, injured and not realistic.

Herbie Hide ..... A.W.O.L

Audley Harrison .... Injured.

Mark Krence - Possible, although supposed to facing Gammar in an eliminator.

Michael Sprott - Going over old ground, has a fight for the EU title.

John McDermott - Surely not after losing last time out, supposed to be facing Sprott in an eliminator

Keith Long - Just beaten him.

Scott Gammar - Wouldn't have thought the Welsh novice would take such a fight so early, Krence is a good fight for Gammar.

Clutching at straws time.

Wayne Llewellyn - That who I want to see Skelton defending his title against.

Julius Francis - No.

Mathew Elis - Possibly, but not a good fight.

Colin Kenna - Same as Ellis.

Looking at that list, you can see why Maloney approached Greenberg.

Whatever happened to Brunos comeback?

Or Mark Potter's.

I can't see him defending the british title, i rekon it will just be a defense of the commonwelth one.

I hope team Skelton are actively looking at him getting the Lonsdale belt for keeps, he's not getting any younger and it does provide something to fall back on if he has problems when retired.

He's done his mandatory defence, should be looking to make a few quick voluntaries. He's only defended the title once in a year.

The only one on that list i could see getting a shot would be Krence, had a win in his last fight for the english title, even if it was an awful fight.

depends if the board will except him as a voluntary defense.

As for Bruno , i think the board would be very reluctent to issue him a licence because of his recent problems and his age, although i don't doubt that he would be keeping himself fit.

As for Potter i think he retired due to eye problems , if he's had it fixed then maybe he could get back his liecence , but again the board would be very strict over this, for good cause as well.
I think that Potter was just coming to the end of a entertaining career anyway, i couldn't see him doing that much if he came back.

don´t you think Skelton could go for the EBU-titl? he isn´t so bad ranked. if Krasniqi would lay down the belt, a bout Hoffmann vs Skelton could be possible.

Maybe , depends if Krasniqi doesn't want the rematch with Hoffman.
I think Warren would like to keep Skelton busy , so he wants a match for him sooner rather then later, and Skelton v Hoffman would take a bit of time to put together

Maloney Promotions said it would be an International bout and I am sure they said over 10 rounds, Kandelaki's name was mentioned

I am sure they could persuade Nigel Rafferty out of retirement...i saw him "training" in the cafe the other morning.

I also back the calls for Wayne Lewellyn but expect they will coax some Maori out of a cave in Tasmania to challenge for the Commonwealth belt, or maybe a rematch with Big Bob? :)

Maori's are from New Zealand, Tasmania is part of Australia,

I will be someone like Lawrence Tauasa I imagine.

Its a big change of attitude than from the early days of this forum (The British scene). Posters used to argue if this is the best we had it. I (and others) would always argue "no, its exciting but crap".

In my opinion he should go after Europe.

Sin Simal Sam wouldn't be a bad next fight.

Give me a break

At least Skelton seems the type of fighter to be willing to stay active. I also get the impression (although I can't prove this) that he seems the type of fighter who is willing to fight anyone.

Skelton is of course a limited fighter whom is learning as he goes along, but at least when in the ring he gets 'stuck in' and makes a fight of it.
