Trinidad would confidently outbox Chavez. UD or late TKO.

I was thinking the same thing after Trinidad with a barrage of right hands and left hooks his best punch.

Am I having a senior moment...or are these guys from two different weight classes? not sure it's a sensible matchup, If I were Chavez's manager, I'd advise against it.

Chavez fought from 130-147 and Tito from 147 to 170 so they are different natural sizes but both were at welterweight at the same time.

Chavez wasn't really a Welterweight.
That said if there was a catch weight below it of some kind Chavez would knock him out, Chavez is one of the best fighters I've seen seen and a high level elite body puncher.
Tito was a very talent fighter no question, but out of the two Chavez could take what he dishes out, I'm not so sure Tito could at that level.
Tito has some good names on his record but upon a closer look some things can be revealed.
Tito beat Pernell which looks good on paper but that was a washed up Whitaker who was nowhere near his best.
Tito beat Oscar De la Hoya, however I don't know about you but I had Oscar winning that fight.
Tito fought BHOP and got knocked out in the 12th.

All relevant.....and pound for pound this is a slam dunk.

Julio Cesar Chavez was never good at welterweight. Too slow for a guy like Felix "Tito" Trinidad at that weight class.

Chavez would get thrashed and hurt badly.

Tito by knockout in 7.

Tito would've brutalized him. Would've looked kinda like the Mayorga fight. Chavez would've been tough, but after a while he wouldn't want no more of that. Not sure if he'd have went down for the count, but just like De La Hoya he'd have stopped at some point, and he would've been a lot more beaten up in the process.
