Iron Mike was interviewed on British TV this morning and suffice to say, it was a car crash.

Was he drunk, high or on sedatives?

Yeah, something's up there. Have never heard him sound like that.

Got to think they screened him prior to putting him live on the air.
Is it hype ?
All these SHORT clips of him throwing wild punches while training, medium to low level hype I'd say.
The announcement of Jones v Tyson was always going to get headlines wasn't it.
It's been off the boil ever since then.

Those internet commentators were right all along, the real Mike Tyson has awoken. That was a typical ferocious and nonsensical interview, yes, the 1990s coke Tyson is back, baby. I’m not so concerned with Roy, he’s been knocked out in round 1 before, I’m concerned with basically anyone who Tyson has contact with. What happens when he ko’s Fury? Does he go on a binge? Who will be the next Desiree washington? If he’s jailed again then we will never seen Tyson McBride 2. Someone’s got to humble him before it’s too late and put that tiger back in it’s cage, figuratively and literally. But maybe it’s just too late and it’s can’t be stopped. I could only see a pre-costume Wilder lasting the distance with Tyson by using his boxing skills, defence and high ring iq but no one knows if Wilders the same due to the costume being on his body for too long.

Tyson slurs his words.

He might be suffering from some sort of medical condition, whereby the severity of his symptoms vary day-to-day.

I don't know if the slurred speech is simply a side-effect of medication he's taking to treat an ailment or whether this is actually a symptom of an ongoing health issue he's coping with, but he does slur his speech from time-to-time.

Here's what I posted during January 2018:
Enlightened-One wrote: 23 Jan 2018, 10:59I've watched several recent videos of Mike Tyson being interviewed where his speech was slurring, possessing a 'blank' expression on his face and he also seemed slow articulating answers to the questions being posed.

It’s truly sad if he is, because the contrast between how he talks now in comparison to when he used to eloquently present the popular one-man “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth” show five years ago is really staggering.

Thoughts?
I strongly suspect that those that mocked me almost three years ago for picking up on Tyson's slurred speech were simply fans of his living in denial.

It's undeniable there have been several occasions, caught on film, of Tyson struggling to slowly convey his thoughts.

James Toney slurred his words rather badly before he entered the Prize Fighter contest in the UK, despite him clearing suffering from Dementia pugilistica.

I’ve also seen a video from 1980 of Muhammad Ali being interviewed before the Trevor Berbick fight. And his mental faculties had clearly declined back then. His speech was slow, and he struggled to convey his thoughts.

So Tyson may be suffering from the same or a similar condition as those guys.

I’m not saying Mike’s definitely ill, because no one knows for sure (other than himself and family members), but the alarm bells should be ringing whenever you see any veteran fighter slurring their words. He's been caught struggling to speak since 2017. The Good Morning Britain interview isn't the first time this has happened.

And what’s really scary, is in the case of Toney and Ali, both guys were allowed to compete, regardless of their struggles to articulate their thoughts.

Yeah sorry, I should have said Trevor Berbick. My point remains valid though.

Muhammad Ali was in a terrible state and should never have been granted a boxing license for that fight.

According to Tyson, he used to smoke $40,000 worth of marijuana a month. He'd probably just had his late night horlicks + joint before bedtime (it was 11pm his time)and was ready for beddykins.

I surmised that he might be drunk, but the medication theory is a plausible one too.

I don't buy tiredness angle; he's 54 and physically fit; such people don't tend to almost fall asleep during short interviews purely down to being tired.

I know that being stoned doesn't make you sound like that - I reckon if anything he sounds really really drunk.

Did he actually fall asleep? Is that why it ended suddently?

To be fair, he bowed his head as if nodding off, but he probably didn't fall completely asleep.

I've seen Tyson speak recently, and he sounded absolutely fine, so before you pronounce yourself some sort of authority on anything at all, let's just pause shall we?

Tyson has long documented problems with alcohol, cocaine and weed, and has also been on and off medications for depression for many years.

And living such a lifestyle can cause permanent brain damage, when coupled with his chosen profession.

There are also videos from 2017 onwards showing Tyson struggling to string a sentence together in a coherent manner.

And I posted one earlier on in this thread.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want Tyson to have some sort of illness, but let’s not pretend that it’s extremely rare for former boxers suffering speech problems during later life.

This is september this year. He sounds perfectly lucid, coherent, and despite his usual draw, totally comprehensible.

Let's talk about the case in hand.

Anyway, I'm not going to bother responding to anything else, as you are well known to hammer on endlessly labouring a point in an effort to prove you have special insight into things that others lack.

Compare the version of Tyson in your Joe Rogan interview to how he eloquently presented the popular one-man “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth” show eight years ago.

He's slurring slightly in the Joe Rogan interview, but apart from the lisp, Tyson was speaking much faster and mumbling less eight years ago.

It seems quite bizarre that he wasn't screened tested before being put live on air.

It's quite clear within seconds that Tyson was not a suitable live interviewee.
