Eddie Machen - Short Videography

So I was home alone today so put a little compilation together of one of my favourite boxers : Eddie Machen.

Hope you enjoy. He is quite a forgotten man in Boxing and sadly died at only aged 40 after falling from a 2nd floor apartment window. Fought many many contenders, title challengers and world champs. Fought for the 'title' once and lost to Ernie Terrell. He defeated many decent fighters. :TU:

He certainly fought a lot of quality competition. He had some fast hands. Exciting to watch.

This video was pretty cool. Thanks for posting this! :TU:

Your video is an awesome contribution to BoxRec. My Father and Uncle always talked about how much they liked Eddie Machen. Both were die hard followers of the DeJohn Brothers. Mike DeJohn's first bout with Machen was on the west coast but when they fought again in Syracuse New York in 1961 my Father and Uncle got to see Machen live (I had the mumps and could not go). My Father and Uncle always were hoping for Machen to fight again on the east coast, especially when the Joe Frazier fight came about and many thought it would be held at the Garden but it ended up in LA. Your video made my day, footage of a great boxer and many nice memories of being around boxing with my Father and Uncle! Thank you.

:salut: Well what can I say to that. Thanks for your lovely memories and lovely comments. Having the resource of boxrec is invaluable but having that personal insight, well there is nothing better for me. Thanks again. :TU:
