Alex Arthur on commentary

I have been watching the DAZN feed recently for the past few fights and Arthur commentates alongside the Nick Halling.

While I think we will mostly all agree that Halling is truly awful as a commentator, I have quite enjoyed Arthurs commentary. He picks up on things, seems fairly knowledgeable and fair to the fighters. He comes across as a decent guy. He did score the Ritson Vasquez fight to Ritson which was pretty bad but apart from that I have to give him a big thumbs up :TU:

I’ve always enjoyed listening to him. Frampton too. Algieri is good.

To be fair I watched a DAZN broadcast a while back and thought Halling was much better than I remembered. THATS HOW BAD ADAM SMITH IS.

Yeah he comes across quite well, very knowledgeable. He's also part of a new podcast call The B.A.D Boxing podcast with Tris Dixon and Adam Booth. They've only done a couple of episodes so far but quite enjoying that.

Has he ever talked in depth about the Gomez fight?

The podcast is mainly analysing the previous weekends big fight. They've done Crawford/Brook and Loma/Lopez so far I think.

Not sure if he's done Tris' Boxing Life Stories yet but I'm sure he'll be asked about it on that.

Belter of a fight, one I watch back regularly.

I usually really like Arthurs commentary. Nice guy and very knowledgeable.

However he was overrating Conor Benn too much at weekend calling him 'world class' was a bit of a stretch, praising his performance like it was Calzaghe vs Lacy.

I’ve really enjoyed the BAD podcast - a welcome alternative to the Costello and Bunce borefest. The sound quality needs a bit of work though.

Agreed. Think they have to do everything online at the moment with covid, but hopefully they work out the kinks and keep them coming.

Yes he has. They discuss the Gomez fight. Good listen and comes across very well.
