'we want best fights, losses don't matter, fighters are too risk/loss averse'

guy loses to solid opponent

'he's finished, man what a fraud, he was/will never be any good, totally unproven fighter X would whoop him'

the irony

History is quickly forgotten by a lot of fans, there’s been plenty of fighters in the past that have been beat early, obliterated even and still gone on to have good careers.

One of my mates asked me if I was watching the big fight last Saturday .
I said " of course , been looking forward to it for months !"
He said who's going to win Tyson or Jones

Aye. Bet he paid his coin though. And the irony is we’ve got knowledgeable posters like Chad who don’t know Barry Jones has left BT. Rest my case.

It’s not just boxing, same with football - win a match and the manager is a hero, lose the next match and he should be sacked  I’m sure many other sports are similar, most fans just don’t know what they’re talking about.
