Joe Joyce not WBC Silver Champion

Hi,

the bout between Joyce & Dubois was announced for the British, Commonowealth, EBU & WBC Silver titles.
But on fight night it was only for British, Commonowealth, EBU titles. What happened? What was the WBC's reason not having their Silver title at stake? Please bring some light into this, thanks.

The WBC and ESPN websites both state that the WBC silver title was on the line. Perhaps Dubois was willing to pay sanctioning fees to Mauricio Sulaimán (to retain ownership of that strap), but Joyce wasn't (since Joe seems intent on going down the WBO route)?

The announcer only said that Dubois was the WBC silver champion. He didn't actually say it was a WBC silver title bout.

I don't really know or care either way. It's a meaningless trinket.

I imagine Joe Joyce found out the WBC were trying to give him their silver title and told them to fornicate off and stop insulting him.

The WBC probably wanted their useless, plastic, crap strap at stake but one of the fighters told the WBC to stick the strap up their ass.

Hopefully one day something dramatic happens in the politics and business of boxing so that all these corrupt sanctioning bodies get eliminated with all their embarrassing variations of the World championship, which can be only one by the sound logic.

Like others have said I'd like to think Joe simply didn't pay the sanctioning fee thereby telling the WBC to go piss up a rope.

Could he do that? Bravo if he did, but the fees are set up when the fight is made as far as I know.

Would Fraud Joshua even get by this robotic fighter?

Perhaps Tyson Fury should give this guy a shot?

Maybe Mahmoud Manuel Charr declined the belt so as not to upset the WBA?

All these theories sound like complete far reaching guesses without any real knowledge of why he didn't want the belt.
The most probable reason is that he's werewolf.
