2014 FMJ vs 2014 Brook - how this fight would pan out?

No doubt that this fight would've been a top ww boxing match knowing that Brook defeated Porter in his homeland. So, how Floyd would've dealt with Brook inside the ring ?

2014 Brook would've been one top-young-prime welter from the new 147lbs generation to fight FMJ. Better than Ortiz, Guerrero, Maidana or Berto. :TU:

Brook was at his best then, but still Mayweather would handle him.

120-108 to Mayweather

Kell Brook has never scored a clear-cut decisive victory over any universally regarded top-ten world-rated fighter. Even the boxing pundits from both the Box-Nation and Sky Sports UK TV networks thought he’d deserved to lose his bout against Shawn Porter.

Anybody seen the prime version of Kell Brook badly struggle against the journeyman Carson Jones during their first bout? :OhYes:

Kell Brook was a product of media hype. He’s the British welterweight equivalent of the allegedly “fearsome” Luis ‘King Kong’ Ortiz.

This is a mismatch.

It wouldn’t even be remotely competitive.

This fight would be so one-sided that it would be terribly boring to watch.

Yeah right, prime Brook would not be as much as competitive against Floyd as Ortiz, Guerrero and Berto were. lol

No fighter beat Porter more clearly than Brook. :TU:

Brook definitely had no significant edge over the other conquerors of Porter. I'd even say, his win was exactly vice versa, the least convincing.

The thing with Floyd is we didn't saw him exactly against a quality-young on the top of his game welter. The most toughest fight at 147 lbs for Floyd it was Maidana and we saw that Floyd was not such a boxing wizard in that fight.

2007 Cotto, 2009-2010 Pacquiao , 2012 Bradley were top notch prime welters.

I think prime Brook would beat all welters(same versions) that Floyd beat. :box: :TU:

Also I think Floyd would have a tough time with Brook's best win i.e Porter. If Maidana gave trouble to Floyd , I think a prime Porter would do it too. :box:

And suddenly Porter would trouble him more than the great Brook.

Stylistically I think yes. But as well the great prime Brook would not be an easy fight for FMJ as some tossers think. :TU:

Did you create this thread desperately hoping for an echo chamber, whereby everyone’s opinions must reflect you’re own?

Why ask a question if you only wanted to hear one answer?

Why insult those that disagree with you, considering it was YOU that asked the question?

I think 2014 Brook would've beat 2014 Maidana more clearly than Floyd did it in the rematch. Brook was no joke. :TU:

Be a hard close fight but Brook i believe had the potential to be the Welterweight king. I wish he fought Vargas for the WBO instead of fighting GGG. Although Brook had a good career i don't think he ever reached his full potential.

Did you see the prime iteration of Kell Brook’s first bout against the journeymen Carson Jones?

What’s the majorly?

And besides, the British media (i.e. Sky & Box-Nation) believed that Brook lost the Porter fight.

And regardless as to whether anyone disagrees, it’s an undeniable fact that Brook has never scored a clear-cut decisive victory over any universally regarded top-ten world-rated fighter.

Finally, even if we agree to disagree about the outcome of the Porter bout, can you name a top-ten world-rated fighter (not named Shawn Porter) that Kell Brook has beaten?

This isn’t an emotional discussion, whereby we’re discussing feelings, I only care about the facts.

Yes, I agree he only beat Porter in a close fight and it was one where you either prefer Brooks cleaner shots or Porters non stop aggressive style. The reason why he gets a lot of credit for that victory is because he won it in America, Porter was undefeated and Brook was the underdog. With the Jones fight, Brook was gassed by 7 in the first fight, got his nose bust up and then in the late stages of it, Jones was going at him but Brook showed a lot of grit and fought it out until the final bell. It was a great learning fight for Brook and then he stopped Jones in the rematch in a more assured performance. The problem with Brook was his discipline in between fights and he should've avoided GGG (although it's easy saying that now).

Bizier was his mandatory. Ibf had him top 10 right?

I wouldnt rate him, but it is an undeniable fact a world sanctioning organization had him in their top 10. Agree?
