Saw Foster a number of times on the old TV Ringside program. Foster was a lanky journeyman heavyweight who gave his best. Australia was very light on for heavyweights in that era and it was not uncommon for light-heavies to step up and match it with the heavies.
Foster's last fight is documented as:
Tony Mundine 164 lbs beat Foster Bibron 210 lbs by TKO in round 11 of 12
Date: 1972-02-25
Location: Festival Hall, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
Referee: Des Crabbe
"Tony Mundine added the Australian heavyweight boxing title to the middleweight title he already held when he stopped defending champion Foster Bibron here tonight. The referee stopped the bout in the 11th round when Mundine, who was conceding over 40 lbs., put Bibron down with a crushing punch. Despite being outweighed, Mundine was a clear pre-fight favorite and was well ahead on points when the bout was stopped. He now hopes to meet Bunny Sterling of Britain for the Commonwealth middleweight title." -Reuters

Maybe you could tell Billy's son that his father has a fan here. Has he ever mentioned his father's fights with Bunny Johnson and Rocky Campbell ?

Foster Bibron boxed two Aussie greats in Bobby Dunlop and Tony Mundine and his win over Billy Aird was impressive because Aird had boxed a draw with classy American Jimmy Young and in that same year boxed a draw with Ernie Shavers possibly the greatest puncher of all time
