I was thinking how many famous boxing Rocky's are there?

(As a sidenote, a young myself used to think the Colorado Rockies were named after Rocky Balboa, it did not occur to me at the time that they were named after the Rocky Mountains instead, and I wondered what other team would be their "Apollo", their "Clubber" and their "Drago",... ....an even younger version of me, at age 8 or 9, knew of an airline named Rocky Mountain Airways, and I thought then that the mountains were too named after Rocky so the airline was in my mind, also indirectly named after Rocky Balboa :)

So anyways, here is the list I came with. First, the most obvious three:
Rocky Marciano
Rocky Graziano
Rocky Lockridge

Then:
Rocky Castellani
Rocky Rivero
Rocky Mattioli
Rocky Ramon
Rocky Fratto
Rocky Duran (before he became Manos de Piedra)
Rocky Valdes
Rocky Garcia (he fought Salvador Sanchez for the world title, went the distance too!)
Rocky Galletari (or something like that, from Australia)
Rocky Kalinga
Rocky Kansas

Any other Rocky's to add to that list???

And I just saw that Marciano is not the only undefeated Rocky in history...Rocky Blundell won his only fight in 1987 down under in Australia... also, Rocky Sekorski...

I remember a fighter named Rocky Mosley Jr. He was a decent enough fighter, held some decent wins and some peripheral titles. But the name Rocky always suggests a bruiser and believe me, he was no bruiser. Calling him Rocky is akin to calling Herol Graham 'Bomber'. It just doesn't fit. However, in this case, his real name was Roxell, so the next step of course, is Rocky.

who fought Joe Frazier for the undisputed world title.

I have a good friend who lives in Luzerne Pa. I go visit him once in a while. It is a 3 hour drive so the visits are few and far between. Anyway this is Rocky Castellani country. Rocky Castellani was a top rated middleweight in the 1950s. I remember him more for being a judge and also owning a club in Atlantic City NJ called Rockys. Anyway there is a statute of him in the town and i told my friend i would bet some people around here probably do not even know who he was. I have several pictures taken in front of it and he was one who just fell short of being a world champion. That was the era of only one world title in 8 weight divisions and the fighters fought often remained active and many great just fell short of being a world champion.

Yeah that's right! Estafire sounded funny to me as a Spanish speaking person who was a child those days..sounds like it's on fire...or like estafa, which means fraud..

I remember him too although I wasnt born when he was a boxer. He only lacked power IIRC. One of my favorite non-champions and a respected judge in my younger days!

Jaime Rocky Balboa fought Chavez and Meldrick Taylor a real warrior i recall. He was not destined to be a world champion but a good solid fringe contender.

I seen him lose a decision to Michael Dokes on the December 9 1988 Holyfield-Pinklon Thomas undercard.

IT STILL HAS that mid to late "1970's" vibe still in the early 1980's.(November 1982)
