Holmes WUD 15 in a classic war of two boxing masters with his superior jab.

I'd pick Holmes to score a close decision. Young was slicker than Larry, but Holmes would be more active and better with a jab. It would be a tactical fight.

Oddly enough, in a recent interview, Holmes said this bout would be a draw.

Out of respect for Holmes and his statement, I'll say one judge calls it a draw, and the other two score it correctly, so I'm going with Holmes by majority decision.

Holmes very wide decision. Just too busy with the jab for Young.

Holmes outclasses the slick Jimmy Young. The greatest quality about Holmes in my eyes was his adaptability. He did well and was successful against boxers slicksters and big bangers. Yes Holmes is in a league superior to Young. Young is good granite but Holmes is great. Holmes may struggle early but he would figure Young out and then he would win a convincing decision. Holmes one liability i would say would be his lack of a great opponent which would have brought out the very best of him but he still defeats Jimmy Young 8 out of 10 times.
