Awesome. This should be one of the fights of the year.

To describe me as a casual of the Lighter weights would be generous, i don't watch many cards that aren't televised in UK, ive seen Ioka's and Tanaka's names doing the rounds over the years but still zero clue about both men, was having a look through their records, Ioka is 4 weight champ winning titles from Strawweight up to Super Flyweight, the unbeaten Tanaka looking to equal that achievement in his 16th fight this week, cant wait, good undercard as well

Can anyone tell me the date and time of this fight in America? I plan to use subscription to isakura to watch it live.

9 am UK time with main fight around 10-10.30.
That's 5hrs ahead of your ET. Do you good have to watch stuff live at some random time you don't know between 2am and 6am like we do every fornicating week !

Given the multiple US timezones that's not too easy to tell you. But if you want to google your time and work out the difference with the UK, the Ioka fight will be aired live at 9AM time.
If you're going the isakura route, get up an hour earlier (so 8am UK) and watch Kobayashi Vs Higa as well!
Given the TBS brodcast the fight WILL start at 9am (give or take 5 minutes) as TBS have something else starting at 7PM local (10AM UK).
I'm not sure how the UK are showing it (as in how they are putting their broadcast together), but Kobayashi Vs Higa is at 5PM Japan time (8AM UK) and Ioka Vs Tanaka is at 6PM Japan time (9AM UK)

If you're watching on allegedly this MIGHT be right, if they are showing the main bout on delay. If they are airing simulcast with Japan TV the main event will be approx 9AM UK

I dont want to be pedantic but allegedly hasnt had anything to do with allegedly since he bailed out as soon as he could following his BT deal. I've seen it on other forums with people praising him for getting PBC shows or Top Rank shows on there when the channel now is part of the PremierSports channels. The guy made a big fuss about how he left Sky and invested in his own boxing channel ( for the fans ), which he did, but left it with a schedule that was thinner than a supermodel with an eating disorder (if you can still say that ).

Thank you guys! I’m in EST, so I think my plan is to put Isakura on my laptop starting at like 3am. Should be able to see co-main and main if I go that route.

Just a word of warning, the Japanese don't have mark Kreigel yapping. This will start pretty much on the dot. Don't be surprised if we don't get ring walks and anthems and instead it's pretty much straight to business

Kobayashi on tape delay - in Japan it'll be in about a minute
allegedly, and international feeds will be showing it after the main event :)

Ok cool, so we’re looking at the Ioka fight being almost exactly 9am U.K. do you think? I’m supposed to be working , but I’m working my notice, it’s NYE, and nobody seems to be on Teams so who cares. Might even start drinking

Ioka is about as complete a fighter you can get for a flat footed guy in the smaller weights without power. His balance, poise and punch repertoire make him a joy to watch.
Only issue is, he can be too correct and too poised with the risk that the fight can get away from him. I felt he beat Nietes, sacrificing the early rounds to take over late. But even I admit it was a tightrope. And this is a risk against someone like Tanaka, fast and relentless with a wicked body attack.
Tanaka really does attack with speed and urgency. I’m hoping Ioka can take advantage of Tanaka’s defensive deficiencies and eek out a great fight. I have to say when Takana gets going, it’s like he’s turbo charged.
Tanaka reminds me of the amazing Korean Myung Woo-Yuh, who split two fights with Ioka’s solid uncle, Hiroki.
The super flyweights are going through a Barrera-Morales-Marquez-Pacquiao type of era. What with “Gallo” Estrada, “Chocolatito” Gonzalez, Nietes, who’s regarded as a Filipino great, and Sor Rungvisai who has some of the best away form you’ll see in an elite Thai, and Ioka who I hope will cement his career today.

Yeah, UK fans shouldn't get ring walks or Anthems, TBS viewers MIGHT, MBS/CBS etc viewers won't, Fox and ESPN probably won't

Cracking fight but horrendous stoppage, ref far too quick to jump in, Tanaka was hurt but if that happens here then they'd be uproar, it was worse than Froch/Groves 1
Still great fight nonetheless, boxer vs fighter with both men switching roles at times, Tanaka started off looking strong, nailed Ioka with a right seconds in and was looking aggressive and targeting the body, Ioka looked settled in round 2 and was putting some lovely combinations together, action ebbed and flowed as did the rounds, bit of a shocker to see Ìoka deck Tanaka at the end of the 5th, right hand followed by a sweet left hook, peach of a shot, another left had Tanaka down again in the 6th and the writing looked in the wall but after Tanaka started to come back into things until walking on to another left which stiffened the legs, no doubt he was hurt worse then than he was for both knockdowns but ref was rapid in stopping it, shame, great win for Ioka

Always felt Ioka had the tools to be great. Loved his comeback fights vs Arroyo, Nietes, Palicte and Cintron.
Was pissed when the good copy of the Cintron fight disappeared from YouTube by the way.
He’s really cemented himself.

It's just not the same when we know the result, but I'm enjoying Higa.
