Quarry simply was on the higher level in comparison to Cobb. In the 70s he could be easily placed in the lower half of the top 10. Cobb could make it a fight, but Jerry would get better of it.

Quarry by Unanimous Decision. Jerry won't stop him but he's too much for Tex in many other ways. I've always thought- "What a fighter we would have had if Tommy Morrison had been blessed with Cobb's whiskers."

Jerry Quarry was in another level and beat and fought better quality boxers. He gave the great Smokin' Joe Frazier hell even though Smokin' Joe thrashed him bad.

Randall "Tex" Cobb had a way better chin, but it is not enough to beat a fighter with better boxing qualities.
