When George Foreman initially retired in 1977, he'd earned roughly $5m from his boxing career, which equates to $20m in today's money.

He was flat broke in 1987 and resumed his boxing career.

And he not only many millions more when he made his comeback, but he also earned at least $250m from the proceeds of his grill.

The grill endorsement was originally offered to Hulk Hogan. He had the choice between that or a meatball maker and opted for the latter. The grill was then offered to Big George.
