Big George turns 72 today. He was 45 November 5 1994 when he recaptured the heavyweight title 20 years after he lost it. Happy Birthday Big George.

I was rewatching him the other day against Shannon Briggs. Looked so fresh it was unreal! Great great man.

That was November 22 1997 so he was 48 then. That was his last fight and a terrible decision.

Would have loved to see George fight Jeff Merritt and Roy Williams, even though he would have beaten them. George felt that Jeff was better than Earnie Shavers.
