I've stuck my neck out.

I've made a bold prediction in this weeks prediction league, just wandering if I am the only one who is going for this one.
Scott Harrison L PTS Victor Polo.
It might actually be called "let you guys catch up" but I don't know something tells me.
Not the first time I've gone against Harrison - I've gone against many times including for Robinson, McCullough, Medina II, Abelyan and Kebede
With that, it must be hard for you to believe that I geniunally think he is world class - but so is Polo.

this is gonna be another easy fight for harrison, polo is an
over the hill 35 year old bum who will be very lucky to see the 8th round
tuaman why do you want harrison to get beat

have given up trying to predict Harrison fights, whenever I fancy him to get outboxed he ends up crushing the other guy, when I fancy him to win he comes out flat footed and makes a meal of it.

I think it's obvious why both these guys want Harrison beat, just remember what Scott did to Wayne McCullough and Steve Robinson

I agree, Polo is world class. But i just think Harrison will be to young and strong for him to deal with.

Listen, I'm not confident about the prediction - far from it. Its just I would feel a similar feeling about predicting a Harrison win.
Harrison is undoubtedly the favourite and if he is as good as he has been hyped should wear old Polo down in about 10 hard rounds. Its just I don't think Harrison has PROVEN himself to be as good as the promise he showed against McCullough and Chacon. Also, big guys give him problems (big southpaws especially).
Polo is focused on this one and I believe he has been in the country quite a while. Whilst he has only had 4/5 weeks notice, it was reported that Harrison was going to fight that guy Tapia lost to - so his preparation for a big guy has been hampered also.
My other worry for Harrison is the lack of fights in recent months. He fought Kebede in October, so lets forget that one. Abelyan was surprisingly an short encounter also, so your going back nearly a year for the last time Harrison had a really hard fight. Polo had a 10 rounder in October, if that 10 rounder was relatively easy - then it is perfect timing for a January world title fight.
My other feeling is a gut feeling, Polo is sounding very confident - I like the fact that he is talking about retirement and then saying immediately "I'm not ready to retire". He is coming here to fight, and is going to give it his all. Harrison seems to be talking of bigger fights and is unusually almost dismissive of Polo.
Oh Max, I DO want Harrison to win - I would love to see the likes of Barrera, Chi etc over in the UK and Harrison is a very good fighter. I just think stylewise he Polo is wrong for Harrison. I think big men are wrong for Harrison and I think Polo is on a par with the 2003 version of Medina.

I think after the Medina fight you can imagine it happening, Polo is quite smooth and if he can mess Scott around for the first half of the fight Harrison might get frustrated/bored/lethargic/messy and Polo could find his range and box his way to a decision.
Harrison does seem (to me anyway) to really have to pump himself up for fights, if he's snorting fire he'll look impressive but he can also perform under-par against some opponents. I suppose he's been ok post-Medina 1 so I do fancy him to stop Polo but you never know....

My one sticking my neck out is Kofi Jantuah to stop Kassim Ouma in 7

I'm not in the prediction league but I have put some money on Polo winning a UD

Come on Polo is 34, fought one fighter with a positive record since Chacon in 2002, he beat him and so did Estrada in the fight after,
Polo has some pedigree but has been cherry picked because he's old and beatable but will carry enough kudos to cause a ripple overseas.
Harrison is fit for this - KO 8-10. If not before.

However, having said that Dave, there's nothing untoward about this choice of opponent, Polo isn't some shaky legged patsy who'll fall over the first time he's hit. He's been in with good fighters, and whilst he may be getting on there's nothing to indicate he's shot.

Listen mate, I'm not really interested in this war you're going on about, and I've known dave to speak to for several years now, so whatever your problem is with him I don't know, but take it somewhere else. It's amazing you have some amazing rivalry with doghouse, seeing as you've only been a member here for two months, unless of course there's some OTHER reason for the vociferous reaction.
