If a 40 y/o Golovkin would succeed to get all the belts at mw it would be a great achievement!

I think GGG could do this big thing and imo it would be utterly stupid for someone to say that it's not a big achievement. Even if GGG would get three mw belts it would be very good. :TU: :box:

Well of course it'd be a big achievement. Whether he will or won't remains to be seen, but I get the feeling he's got a few more solid wins left in him yet. Whether or not he's got any more Championship unifying wins left in him I'm not sure, but stranger things have happened.

After such a lengthy Amateur career, and a lot of Pro fights and Camps I figure he's probably getting pretty near the end, though obviously I'll be rooting for him until he hangs 'em up.

It would, but the lack of interest just in terms of this thread alone suggests that Golovkin's peak level of interest has passed. He should be the guy who beat Canelo, but history will remember Canelo as the better fighter, as they fought so evenly in both their fights, and the Ginger Taco Muncher has moved on to superficially greater achievements.

I used to love him, but since the disappointment of the Canelo fights I haven't really been that excited about any of his opponents and he's obviously a faded force. I haven't watched any of his most recent fights.

He's still my favorite active fighter personally.

it's a damn shame that his legacy in the history books of boxing is greatly tarnished if not overall destroyed by pure fvcking corruption.

thats why it can't be said often enough...

GGG FAIR & SQUARE BEAT CANELO TWICE.

BACK TO BACK.

the first fight no way in hell was a draw and he should've never lost his belts in the second.

plain robbery.

still undefeated on my watch.

True. Let's not forget that a younger version of Golovkin could not get fights with Martinez, JCCjr or Cotto who were fighting on HBO too. GGG was 35 y/o when he fought a young Canelo and of course that Canelo was seen as the young future money-man in boxing, so he had all the advantages.

That, or the fact that AC post's a GGG thread every other day, which ends up with the same dicussion. :OhYes:
