Eubank, he withstood bombs from a world class cruiserweight and Nigel Benn

Eubank took punches from a very heavy hitting cruiser,Froch may have been able too but Eubank proved it.

Froch's chin was exceptional, but Eubank's was on another level still

Froch for me. Went in with better opposition and was never stopped.
The Benn comparison doesn't work for me. I wouldn't have given Benn much chance against Froch and Benn beat Eubank in the rematch IMO, but Froch could out-match Benn in just about every department.
Froch put his chin to the test fight after fight, Eubank would keep his out of harms way with some very weak opposition in between the harder punchers he faced.

Eubank was stopped on an eye injury and ate punches from Thompson when lots of cruiserweights folded

Benn is the last fighter your face can be a human punchbag against. Made for Benn was Carl.

This is Froch we're talking about here. Firstly, Benn's chin wouldn't stand up to Carl's punch power. Nigel was put on queer street by far lesser punchers than Froch.
Lots of big punchers tried to put Froch away and every single one of them failed.

froch's chin was obviously very good, but he was down a couple times and hurt a couple more at 168. he wasnt a total undentable iron man and part of what he had that made him so tough was recovery and the will to fight through adversities
eubank was that slight bit tougher to hurt in the first place though
the highest level is the one where the guys arent even going down and dont even need to show much recovery, like provodnikov, wach, chuvalo, mccall, ggg etc

Apart from the eye unjury Eubank was untouchable.Thompson ended many fights with 1 punch put couldn't budge Eubank,Chris's first fight at the weight too so didn't even grow into the new division

If he stayed with Gerald McClellan.... Froch has to actually lay a glove on Benn first, he didn’t like an elusive target at all with those long slow punches.

Froch is far too slow and static. And I’m a fan.

I would have picked Froch. Probably both too tough to be taken out by the other, neither particularly fast, but Froch had the better fitness and workrate

Hard one they both had good chins Eubank stood up to bigger men , but Froch fought the best of his era ,, Benn for me does'nt come into it , i always thought Benn was a great British / European level fighter he would'nt have a bar of the best around at the time , remember in an interview , Toney calling him out and saying Benns not fought anyone good , to which Benn replied yes i have i fought De witt ,, said it all really

Eubank's chin was better for sure, but he wasn't as fit over 12. Froch took a fair old time to recover from Groves' shot, which he wouldn't have been able to do without exceptional fitness.
Just think of Ali-Foreman, and how exhaustion negates a great chin. Groves really hurt Froch because he caught him early with full power, but then by the middle rounds Carl's chin had barely weakened thanks to his cardio, while George had lost a lot of his sting.
Eubank could take a helluva shot — a 10/10 chin, but he couldn't fight at a pace for 12 without the risk of ‘doing a Foreman’. So he didn't! Whereas Froch had a 9/10 chin that held firm late. It would've taken a Calzaghe to tire him into a state of vulnerability.

The Groves knockdown was a fight ending shot. Everyone who’s been in with George says his power is frightening. Murray said much harder than GGG. Callum Smith said them just whistling past his ears was enough. The Froch knockdown was full power with Carl walking on to it.

Both extremely tough fighters, the one thing that sepertaes them is Eubank was hit by a huge punching cruiserweight and stood up,Froch can't say the same, although it's very likely he could have but we'll never know.
