There are a few rumours going around that he’s in talks with Matchroom. FW has been very quiet on him lately and there’s been minimal talk of him having a fight lined up.

I personally think he needs to change his trainer more so than his promoter albeit I thought his matchmaking has been poor with FW.

If he does move over then surely BT will be pissed off though. Especially with the show being so poor this weekend and the Frampton fight not having a confirmed TV home.

He’s fluffed his only two big fights. The rumours are basically Spencer Fearon trying to stay relevant by tweeting Hearn was after Tunde’s number from his famous black book. Ok.... I’m sure Hearn needs the masters knowledge.

I'd be a bit surprised if this was the case, but I prefer watching Callum Johnson TBH and if W@rren can get Johnson regular bouts again , it's not such a huge loss for BT.

I don't think Tunde has done a bad job at all with Yarde, however, if he does go to Hearn and the Buatsi fight is made this year, Anthony will have to think long and hard about his set up.

Agree 100% that he fluffed the Arthur fight.

I think Kov was ready for the taking.

He was but I think it still needed a world class boxer to capitalise on that.

It was still a big step up for Yarde and he did what he could. His performance against Arthur on the other hand....

Given where he is at present, I think the Matchroom, Macklin, Smith, Nelson treatment is just what he needs, to take the focus away from his shortcomings.

I think the opponents Yarde had fought previously didn’t prepare him well enough for the fight with Kovalev. I remember Haye fighting Fragomeni who made things tough for him which set him up well to then fight Mormeck.

I’m not saying Yarde has even close to the ability that Haye did but the step up in class was just too big for him against a Kovalev who is 50% of the fighter he once was.

I may be in the minority but I genuinely think that if Yarde had properly gone for it against Arthur then he would have won. Yet he got out worked by someone who go just threw a good jab whilst his corner didn’t get him going or tell him the fight was close and were more interested in .

I've often thought that Yarde would be perfect for the Matchroom hype machine but, stating the obvious here, a change of trainers is probably going to benefit him more.
I do rate Yarde but he's a clear demonstration of a fighter who runs over a few limited foreign fighters, picking up pointless belts and suddenly thinking he's better than what he is. A few tough domestic or decent European level assignments might show us more and give us a better idea of his level.
As far as the Lyndon Arthur fight is concerned, I bet he watches it back everyday and kicks himself.

Perfectly put this. I was fairly high on Yarde, and felt the timing could have been right for taking Kov. But he got a bit exposed there and the Arthur fight was just baffling he didn't even have a go at him until much much too late. Now I've about turned, don't think Yarde has the tools to go beyond Euro level, always just a punchers chance.

I bet he doesn’t, looking at his social media he’s been on holiday virtually since the fight.

Not by someone on Yarde’s level

He’d be good to build up for a fight vs Buatsi if he can keep winning.

Laughed the other day watching TyFL tv where he goes in on a load of UK trainers and then goes ‘and then Tunde..........f ucking Lions and that sh1t.’

Yarde has done very well to make the money he has and to get the success he has. Props to him and Tunde.

i agree, considering he started boxing really late and had like 12 am fights. he's done very well to reach where he is.

that said, he did look a bit clueless last fight, i certainly think he is capable of boxing better than that. and he showed nothing to change it up much. defo needs to make some adjustments

I have seen lads with similar talent to him in the gyms for years and years. The fact that he got that big payday against Kovalev is a huge success. Most won't even get a sniff at that kind of money from boxing.

if you sign yard your in a tricky spot, has been in world champ ppvs, but I think you have to strip him back to sub British level. Get him a real trainer (keep the original team as hype men only).. then I feel you need to knockout a few journeymen to implement new coaching and get confidence back, then slow British>commonwealth>euro>world class>world champ path.. but that’s a 2 year rebuild, I feel him and whoever sign him will want cash quicker than that.

If Matchroom sign him it’s with a view to further Josh Buatsi. Nothing more.

It wasn’t PPV, was it? The Lions turned down step aside money equal to the purse.... what a decision! Could have had the cash plus an easier fight for a vacant title.
Also, no professional trainer is going to tolerate The Lions!

Yep - not even Eddie would put him on PPV.

Will the lions accept someone else in the camp? I would guess it would be very difficult for the Master Genius to let someone else call the shots.

They could do with getting a herd of wildebeest to run rampant through the camp.

Yarde was matched badly from the off, and he's now all of a sudden looking like his next fight is an absolute must win. I know he's likely to be financially secure and maybe that's enough for him.

He was dire against Arthur, and although I did pick Arthur do give him trouble I didn't expect with any confidence for him to pull it off, especially using such a small arsenal of punches.

Yarde going no where without a decent trainer and sparring. Shame I like yarde and he has talent but will always get exposed when it matters.
