There is no doubt that Canelo is a very skilled and powerful fighter but the current smw era is a weak one. It's not like Canelo is fighting guys like prime Ward, Froch, Kessler, Dirrell or Abraham. Not even the era of prime Badou Jack, George Groves or DeGale.

So that's why as a boxing fan I'd like to see two young undefeated top guys fighting each other and the winner would be a solid champion, not just a belt holder. It's a pity that Benavidez lost his belt so foolishly. It was his ticket to get a Canelo fight.

Now only Plant has that ticket (IBF belt) to get Canelo.

Goodness, wouldn't you have loved to have Alvarez around at 168 in his prime about a decade ago?

Some mouthwatering fights we probably would have seen.
