Could Stevenson have won 4 or 5 gold medals?

Obviously his chances were pretty good going into the 1984 games that he would have won gold in LA but what about 1988? He wont the world championships in 1986, could he have denied Lennox Lewis gold in 1988? At 36 he wasn't in his prime anymore but a 23 year old Lewis was not what he would become.

He was on the slide already a couple of years before. Didn't he retire in 88?

Guessing he would have won it 1984 but not 1988. Hard to say though in a 3-round fight.

Great question ! I say 4 but not 5. Does Stevenson, at his peak, beat the 1988 Lewis ?

Quiet possibly Stevenson would have won. Though you never know if a referee will jump in and stop the fight for reason.
